I started learning Italian at the same time as Shea, and now she's learning my native language. I can't get over this news; it's amazing!

You’ll definitely have a great time learning Brazilian portuguese. It is so beautiful and you’ll see that it is very grammatically similar to Italian, since it’s a latin language and also has so many words that come from Italy. I believe that the most difficult thing for a foreigner when learning Brazilian portuguese are the slags spoken in informal day to day conversations. We have a lots of abbreviations and sounds but you’ll get it. ☺️ Boa sorte e parabéns pela sua iniciativa! Conheci o seu canal hoje e acompanharei a sua jornada. ☺️

Hi Shea! Another Brazilian here really happy you have an interest in Brazilian Portuguese! 🥰I'm also learning Italian. The most difficult thing for me so far going from Portuguese to Italian is not falling for the trap of the false cognates. There are quite a few between these two languges. The Portuguese sounds may seem difficult now, but with your amazing discipline and dedication to the learning process you will get it in no time! As you can already see, there's a bunch of Brazilians here to support you! Brava!!! Continua così!🙂

Hi Shea. I am very Interested in learning a Southeast Asian language but I have had bad experiences online in the language community where people have judge my language skills harshly. It made me sad. But, i had talked to family and they said for me to learn a language the way I am comfortable learning that language. I love to write in Languages like mandarin by using pinyin. Not the actual characters. 😊😊 but I worry if others will make fun of me because I write differently than them. I have always love Southeast Asian cultures ever since, i was a little girl. 😊😊 i believe in Jesus.😊😊

Hi Shea! I wanted to ask how andvif I can use the 30 day language plan for a language that is Not one of the ones that you mention on the website ( like French, Spanish and German) but the language of Korean. I don't know if I just give up 😢 at this point and / or keep trying?
@SheaJordan9 ай бұрын
Hi! The one I sell can be used for Korean however it doesn’t provide resources like it does for the other languages. My course gives you a schedule of activities and exercises to do that aren’t specific to any language, but I provide a resource list (Books, KZbin channels, playlists, TV series, etc) for Italian, French, English German, Spanish, and Portuguese. So the only thing is that you won’t have this list of resources for Korean. But since my study plan is just a plan, it doesn’t have specific exercises for each language, it can still be a good guide for you for any language. If you have more questions, you can email me at sheajordanbiz@gmail.com. The one I’m using in this video is different from the one I sell. The one I’m using for this challenge is through Refold, and they have resources for Korean.

Hey Shea! Have you heard of Speaking Brazilian by Virginia Langhammer? It's a great YT channel that teaches Brazilian Portuguese IN Portuguese with both Portuguese and English subtitles. It worked for me because you get used to hearing it throughout the videos, and she goes over everything from grammar to FAQs and vocabulary and even has quizzes. She does a few "bate-papos" series every so often, where she has short conversations with other Brazilians who are also in the US. She does travel videos throughout the US and many parts of Brazil, where she intentionally teaches specific vocabulary and cultural points. If you try it out, tell me how it works for you!

Here is something inspired. Listening you and see how you try to learn a new language from the beginning. Around 14:25 you talk about that you watching the video and don't understand anything. I have the same with English, when I started to watching people on the stream in Twitch. I was in easier situation, because I understand something in english, but I wasn't able focus on that what the streamer says... that was really hard to understand anything, but from day to day, from hours to hours, I was doing better, and now I understand a lot, but I have problem with speaking out loud :D even if I know how to say it, in my head I have balck hole when is the time to say it out loud :D for sure you know that feeling :D I have chaos in my head, because I want to learn but I don't know from where to start. For sure I need to practice english vocabulary (today I checked how to say "tracks" because earlier I didn't know how to say it, and I said "train road" xDDDD ) I hope that one day I figure out how I can learn and start :D I keep m,y finger crosed for you :) it was a pleasure to listening you :)
@SheaJordan10 ай бұрын
Yeah exactly, it’s interesting that after many hours of immersion you can slowly start to understand, but speaking is always the hardest part. 😅

You learn brazilian portuguese just for fun?😮 it's dumb . It's can not help you financially. You wasting your whole time.. learn mandarin/ german/ korean in 2024
@SheaJordan10 ай бұрын
People can learn languages for whatever reason they want. This is a really negative attitude and choosing to learn any language is never “dumb.” Language learning is a fantastic way to challenge yourself, learn about new cultures, and connect with people. You don’t need to learn a language just because it’s popular or will help you get ahead financially.
@Kaviiisha10 ай бұрын
@@SheaJordan imagine they did not become financially free and then learn something for fun/ knowing cultures/ connect with strangers . I don't see any difference between who having everyday party and learn things without any financial reason ..sorry for if i discourage you. I just said true
@SheaJordan10 ай бұрын
Well we just have different priorities then. You don’t need to do something in life just for money. You didn’t discourage me, I know my reasons for learning a language and I’m happy to continue learning languages because for me it’s fun.
@Kaviiisha10 ай бұрын
@@SheaJordan yah i think so. I also love to learn different languages. I tried portuguese. But sometimes i feel it will be worthless. Because portugal and brazil have lowest gdp per capita rate and their whole economy low than other developed EU countries and even east asia. Then i stoped learning portuguese. I dunno maybe im dumb from your view. But started learn german and mandarin . Because german is the biggest language in europe and mandarin is the biggest in asia. And portuguese is the fastest dying language in europe . Aslo south america's hell is uncivilized brazil.

On the contrary. Your lack of motivation is related to values you hold dear. I understand this aspect of Brazil well, and I know better than many that it's not a country that has always been thriving. However, learning a language is entirely different. It opens up new perspectives for yourself and horizons that few can see. Honestly, in my family, few care about studying languages, but I truly believe you can surpass yourself. Like many who don't appreciate philosophy, I have much to be thankful for having studied and enjoying self-improvement. Wherever you look, there will be obstacles to overcome, both internally and externally. It's connected to your motivations. Many of my motivations are seen as foolish by those around me, but I understand how important they are to me. This is your decay. A country being partially (financially) bad doesn't prevent you from wanting to learn a new language. Despite Brazil's challenges, I still appreciate that we have a versatile language, excellent for literature. Behind all this, there are various reasons why it's worth learning Brazilian Portuguese.
