Thanks so much. That was so useful. So often I've felt stupid in rehearsal rooms as people say "ooh I think that chord could use a minor sixth," and I've just sort of smiled and nodded, not really knowing what that is without spending a few minutes figuring it out on a guitar. This is a great way of remembering them. I didn't know a lot of the tunes but I figured out other ones that match. :)

I have played alto and tenor sax for a year. I am also in Jazz Band, and Honor Band on Tenor, and I LOVE the saxes sound and playing it. That's why I'm first chair!!

Awesome stuff again man, I usually take the approach of trying to figure out exactly what the steps and notes are behind each interval. But I'm definitely going to give this a try for ear training. Thanks!

7:50, and the little 4 notes that dribble down, and even the little thing he sang sounds a LOT like this song I hear my sister playing all the time, i beleive its disbelief, from an Undertale AU, i know its not really the place to bring it up, but i swear i thought of it.

Hey friend, I love all you videos and perspective so I was hoping you could give me some advice (or maybe make a vid?) about circular breathing and slap tongue. I can do the circular breathing technique but when I try it on sax I find I don't have the cheek muscles to make a good tone. Slap tongue is similar in that I don't have the best tongue pressure, but I also am having difficulty exhaling a puff of air to get the nice round tone. Right now I'm just trying to spend 10mins a day on each, hoping that my muscles will build up to the requisite level. Any suggestions would be awesome man. Thanks for sharing all your skill and knowledge on this channel. Peace.

Hey man, thanks for the feedback and questions. Actually, I think you allready found the right answerr to both your questions :). 10 to 15 min day of docussed practise with both these challenges willl eventually solve your problem. The one extra Tip would like to give you is: Try these skills in an applied way. So find a song with a lot of slap-tonging and find a song that requires circular breathing and incorporate these into your practice until you can play them flawlessly. Applying a skill concretely like that will help focus you on a good result :). All the best! FJ

Thinking of the Crazy Frog song also helpes with a minor third
@ArturoSenni12577 жыл бұрын
He used an Iron Man reference, because he's essentially a douche. I absolutely agree, that several other examples would have sufficed more appropriately when are are talking about an instrument like Saxophone. I don't need to soil my mind with handicap associations like these. I think if you have base musical ability, you should be able to understand utterly simple interval relations without idiotic examples like these. Not a very competent keyboardist either I see. Better hope that Piano belongs to someone else. And look at that hat... Good gracious.
