I don’t think any one will be disputing that Adelaide does not produce any pioneers after listening to this gentleman. Thank you.

What he is saying (or what I am hearing) is that you must take an active role in your recovery from chronic pain. It begins with learning. I think many people confuse "learning" with "hanging out in chronic pain groups, lamenting symptoms". Learning about chronic pain/symptoms from a scientific view was a massive shift in my journey to pain-free. Understanding how our brain learns ANYthing will help you to see how it could certainly learn a pain pathway. Recently, I need to take my husband's car for an oil change. He drives a manual transmission. It had been MONTHS since I drove it. I was merging onto the freeway before smiling to myself... I had this overwhelming thought of "I don't know how I know how to do this... I just know I know." It makes sense to me that pain can be learned. Which means that you can learn NEW ways to approach your life to give your system a break from continuing the pain cycle. You have to participate. You have to understand what's going on. I hope that helps some for the folks who felt this was out-of-reach. I recently heard Schubiner saying that Lorimer will "come around". I giggled because I think they're all right. We are all just looking at the same problem and using some slightly different methods to solve it. An emotional approach may be very helpful to some people - whatever helps you to LEARN. Just start learning anything that isn't more pain. You WILL get better!

Yeah I also heard Schubenir saying that I know it will happen. I think both of them are approaching the same darkness (chronic pain) bearing torches but from the different sides of the same tunnel, bound to meet.❤

I love the term "bioplastic". I think that resuming activity (gradually and safely) creates an amazing feedback loop. If you know your entire body is adaptable AND you accept that the brain is part of the body, then it tells me our entire being is adaptable. We are primed for growth and change. The ticket is building momentum in the right direction.

Just listened to this as I am trying to tell a friend how to get out of pain; did it myself 5 y back with neuroplasticiity but that was reading, practicing, and processing the information in a group (and believing it could work, aka, the placebo effect) . There isn't a magic pill, not a paragraph this guy will speak that when heard will take anyone out of their chronic pain. Ending chronic pain is the result of the 'biolplasticity' LM mentions and it takes relentlessness and practice until it is habit. It seems impossible but it isn't so hard at all and is preferable to any invasive intervention, including pills or injections. One may need a guide, companion or group to keep to the practice until it is fully learned.

Um, what? I'm with Johnathan. Most of this information was generally useless for the average person.

This guy has single-handed left thousands of people who could benefit from interventions/cures to suffer the rest of their lives, because they forgoe treatment to chase this lorimer valley of eldorado. Injuryis not the problem?!?! My god what a NUT

Accute injury needs to be treated but then body heals . Chronicity of the pain is the outcome of the brain , you have to understand this . Thousands of people getting well by this technique including me. Dr. Sarno was way ahead of his time.

Your strategy is ubiquitous. It's being employed by the vast majority of MDs in the US, and our pain epidemic is getting worse.

I don't find much of anything he says to be helpful

If you are in perfect health, with no pain, and make a living selling the idea pain and disability are strictly a mind thing. It's awesome. I would love to watch this guy squirm with a broken back pelvis with lots of severed nerves, its all in your head!!
