As Filipino, yes that's definitely true here. Teenage pregnancy is a real issue here and I should know that since most of female classmates got pregnant back in my high school years, but the thing is my school is like a fictional school cuz all of us there are like one big family. Every teacher have consideration if my female classmates can still go to school go, if not due to they can't walk then they will send modules for them and pass it anytime. Everyone got graduate no one left behind even the delinquents and either they're on the military or an auto repair man rn. My teachers are very generous and considerate but a bit strict lol

Also not a game in a strictly sense, but i used to carry around a play station one emulator on a floppy disc. It was named "conectix vgs" and it was that light. It only was capable of reading games from the CD drive but worked and very well. Also about the games. Was kind of baffling that some random picture was heavier than a whole game. I was so young, now a single picture is heavier than several games of that time hahhaha xD

A big reason why file sizes of games are so massive is because they include higher resolutions, like 1440p and 4k and those graphical assets aren't compressed. On top of that game code isn't exactly optimally coded.

That's why scalable textures exist. There's no need to have these giant raster textures that increase in size O(n^2) with resolution when you can just draw textures that scale up perfectly no matter the resolution.

Most games these days are pretty much the opposite of optimally coded. And yes, like others have said... the file sizes are massive for no good reason at all. Even today there's no reason a game should be over 50 GB, even with 4K textures.

I’m almost finished with watching Demon slayer and I have to agree it is mid, since I do like the writing for the protagonist and the other cast members but the villains in the story I really don’t like, the only one of the demon’s I like was akasa but at least some of the deaths for the demons are pretty good and the animation kept me engage for the entirety of the story, it’s honestly amazing seeing how well animated the fights are and how exciting they can be but regardless it’s a pretty good show.🤔🐱

The issue with new games taking up so much space has something to do with the file compression, essentially most games that come out nowadays should be taking up at most half of what they currently are, but people get lazy and do the bare minimum for file compression, so a game that should only take up fifty gigs of space ends up taking over a hundred gigs instead. That’s why I like older games, they don’t take up a bunch of fucking space!
