To be fair, Warhammer 40k has a lot more lore going on for them than just "Hot Elf waifus like in every other LN, but in space!" Haven't seen the series being referenced, but given how incredibly simple and homogenized LNs are getting, I wouldn't be surprised if the only reason there's an elf is because it's an Isekai, so of course there's hot elf waifus in your area.

I was going to write that the elf girl is just Vulcan, but figured someone else would have already made the Star Trek reference. I didn't have to look far. Though, one thing I really liked about Star Trek was how the aliens felt a lot like fantasy characters with Romulans being dark elves to the Vulcans elves, Klingons being orcs or ogres, and the Ferengi being gold hoarding goblins.

The Overlord anime doesn't focus on the lizardmen enough, so people aren't properly attached to them. Believe it or not, Crusch Lulu (that albino one) was a serious contender for best girl among LN readers.

1:27 This space Isekai is called " Reborn as a Space Mercenary " (Mezametara Saikyou Soubi to Uchuusen-mochi Datta no de, Ikkodate Mezashite Youhei Toshite Jiyuu ni Ikitai), and is actually really good! Do read it if you can, I highly recommend. I think the fact is high technology and low fantasy (so far) makes it more interesting than the regular Isekai, meaning the MC has to rely on good strategy and invest in better equipment to remain OP instead of just "Oh he's just special" shorthand that most Isekai use. Also he one of those MC that actually gets to bone his harem, which gives him extra points as far as I'm concerned.
