In this video I rediscover how to spend time alone. We can find so much healing and growth within our solitude, and sometimes it just involves a little practice to get used to our own company :)

Some animals come into our lives and stay for so many years. Others come for just a short time but offer a different healing. They have their own karma and ways of leaving. I've come to the conclusion, that it is out of our control. Just to love them well while you are with them is enough.

Emily you’ve inspired me to be a strong and confident solid female traveler! I originally followed you for the free-spirited hippie vibes but I’ve found myself constantly being inspired by how you spend your days and encourage yourself to truly live life. Thank you, from one girl in her 20s to another, for a reason to live again🩵

Don’t feel bad about showing your grief. Humans all go through this at some point and it’s not awkward. It’s a beautiful part of life. I really resonated with your message towards the end. ❤

Washington has a place in my heart, the forests and weather there is so lovely to me - I’m from Arizona so anything than hot dry weather makes me feel so good, alive and happy and washington made me realize I am a nature person! I haven’t finished the vid yet but I hope you carry bear spray or some small weapon for unexpected danger, nature is so healing I’m also learning to be alone. Best wishes!

This video was probably my favorite of yours I have watched so far. I really appreciate your transparency in your feelings and emotions. It is very inspiring and knowing all of us deal with tough things and feelings it is such a good reminder that we are not alone and we can get through it. Love you Em ♡ we appreciate you.

really , one of the best hippies there ever were . love the speech on love and sorrow and happiness and solitude i suppose . recently found you and think to myself that you ought to have been a part of the Fulton St. Haight Ashbury Scene in the late 1960s . You are better , though in ways . You have evolved past what those old time hippies were dreaming towards .also congrats on your sobriety . i cannot give up on grass and Walt Whitman's poetry , entitled Songs of Myself .

Hi Emily! First just want to say, I enjoy your vlogs and really appreciate you sharing your story with us. Going through grief alone is very tough, and I commend you for your journey. I went through quite a social life in my 20s but with loss and trauma have found myself alone and single (by choice) in my 30s. It's hard, but gets easier, and honestly I love the freedom it gives. On another note, I just want to mention that when it comes to hiking, there is the saying "cotton kills" (apologies if you know this already!). I know you're mostly going out on short hikes, but if you can, try to invest in some wool base layers, especially in the cold. Wool helps regulate your body temp as it sweats, unlike cotton, and can either keep you cool in warm weather or warm in cold weather. It is very important in cold weather for safety against hypothermia, and it is also resistant to odor causing bacteria! Happy hiking!
