A 18 yr embroidery veteran here. Always test on actual fabric vs backing, you won’t get the same results on just backing. I know installers techs say to use backing but it’s always better to use real fabric.

Really looking forward to more embroidery content. Thank you for posting! I had a very similar job last month on an independent flannel. The thinner thread and needle worked out great for the tiny text and small flying birds in the design.

Good to see you progressing on “Little Jimmy” lol. Can you imagine doing an order for 3000 bucket hats on just one head? That was us 3 years ago! Lol. Now we have 13! Tajima baby!

You're an animal. I did 300 pieces on the single head at 20k stitches each...took a month 😂. I ordered my 6 head after that

Look into putting solvy ontop when you are doing small lettering. It helps alot, its also water soluble so you can clean it right off.

I tried it on these and it didn't make a difference. This fabric is pretty stable

hey @lee stuart just try adding wash away top on your 60wt embroidery. it just will made it better. but over all it looks great. look always amazing work Lee

Thanks man. I actually tried that on a second run of these a week after I shot the video. The flannel is a pretty sturdy material so the topping didn't make any difference

Good info brother. You got a digitising program yet? Setting the start position to bottom centre of the logo will make getting the same distance above the pocket easier

Sample on the backing paper always looks different because of pull/push compensation and that’s why samples should always be done on intended fabrics. And also please be careful with needle bar shaft they are very weak on all the models with DCP. I have already broken 3 of them with very minor impact

anyone ever use embroidered adhesive in a flannel? looking for other options since I do not have an embroidery machine to put on flannels

Heat press adhesive works ok, but it doesn't last over time. It's usually good for about 50-60 washes

Anywhere in the range of 700-800spm is the sweet spot in my opinion

Loved how the flannel shirt turned out. What software are you using for the digitizing? We use Wilcom Hatch and I fucking hate it.

Yes. 60wt is only 80% the width of 40wt. So you need to increase density up 120%.

IMO the hat looked dope, the flannel seemed... misplaced? As if they needed to use a different colour-way or something. Either way, nice job dude!

Anytime there's a pattern involved that sort of happens, it's the negative space in the design. Some like it and some don't
