podcasts like this are my absolute favorite i believe that they should all be freelance like this one. i like seeing where the conversation takes you and getting to feel the true emotions that come with casual deep conversation. we get to learn more. i’m more of an understanding person i learn by experience and i problem solve. and this type of podcast is something i can actually grasp onto and understand what you’re saying. when it’s a podcast that’s topic oriented and book facts and just something you thought about and organized i get lost. i don’t remember anything i heard. but at the end of this podcast i realized i heard and understood everything you guys said. i know this comment is all over the place i have brain damage so it’s hard to get out the right words. but please make more podcasts with joe like this! i love hearing what you guys have learned and what you find interesting.

17:31 That was why my Molecular bio professor at the time tells us to get the new edition of the text because they come up with new things frequently in that field. Another professor of mine told us that if you come up with a theory (I think assuming you're using scientific methods) and you piss off some people, you might have something there.

17:36 i get the point u make about science constantly being a search for truth (but pluto's not a star!) Also, i feel like the whole pluto being a planet or not situation was more an issue with how scientists define things, which of course becomes harder to do for the items that are in between to clear classifications.

I understand how the scientist accidentally look down on people. I’m kinda smart and witty myself and the one thing that brings the ultimate condescension out of me is when a person that’s stupid talks down to me like they’re smart. And what makes it funny isn’t that the smart person is being lectured about something they already know. What’s funny is that everything that’s being said is wrong and they seem so confident. I truly hate it especially when no matter how you explain it they just keep saying the same thing that you just debunked instead of understanding logic. That’s why they look down on them. It’s like they’ve literally forgotten how to think and a good bit of what makes people great is being able to think so in a way it’s messed up but I can see how someone sees a fool as a lesser person because they kinda are. It’s like there’s knowledge an the my have anti-knowledge. The world would be done for if there were too many Dale Gribbles running around.

38:14 "...if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it's stupid." - Albert Einstein. It's usually accompanied today by a cartoon; a fish in a bowl, an elephant, a monkey, a dog, a penguin and a seal, "For a fair selection everybody has to take the same exam: please climb that tree." The curriculum for western education was outdated and broken decades ago.

I think the reason mass transit didn't work in California is because the government there is so miserable. Also, mass transit mostly sucks. In countries where there is mass transit, it's heavily subsidized and costly. There are a handful of instances where mass transit works really well.

I remember posting a picture on myself on social media and tagged it #korean and some Korean guy responded saying that I shouldn't use the tag because I'm not korean because of my skin tone lmao (I'm also half black). I don't remember my exact direct response (I might have told him to go fuck himself, I honestly don't remember), but my indirect response was passive-aggressively posted more pictures of myself with the same hashtag and indirectly calling him crazy or something- kind of knowing he'd see it- before I blocked him
