In this video we have a go at learning to TIG weld. I've never TIG welded before so if you're watching throw some feedback in the comments about your experience and tips for successful welding and set up.
The welder I'm using is a Unimig 200 Razor ACDC TIG/MMA. I'm attempting to TIG weld 3mm steel witha 2.4mm Lanthanated 2.4mm Tungsten and 1.6mm mild filler rod running pure argon gas.
Tungsten is ground down on a standard fine bench grinding wheel that I purchased from Trade Tools.
Consumables are from Bunnings including gas. If I get serious I'll be looking at a major gas supplier and proper welding shop to save cost and reduced my trips to Bunnings. :-)
Welder was purchased from Hare and Forbes in Brisbane. Staff are great and they have a full suit of Unimig gear.
