Learning Maya- Intro to the 3d Paint Tool

Does not mean it is great. But yes😂😂 And if you are in college, you need to be comfortable with painting UVs in photoshop anyway. Sometimes it is just part of the job.

@@Yamagatabr Exactly. Like many "legacy" and half baked tools in Maya (Sculpting tools) I dont know anyone that uses them. Photoshop + Substance painter should cover it for textures.

When you save your render, make sure to check "save color managed".

Hi, I asign the file texture to the mesh, but it stills show me "some surfaces have no file texture assigned to the curent atributte". I already painted another mesh with another lambert. I dont understand why I can't assign a file if I already create a lambert for each mesh. This blow my mind.

I sometimes run into a glitch in Maya when using the 3d paint tool where the software doesn't give me the option to assign the file texture. I usually just save my Maya file, close Maya, and then re-open. That seems to resolve that problem. Not sure if your problem is similar, but you could try that.

lmao, me too dude. i spent an hour and half searching and then fixing the problem. just use the material of lambert and blinn for 3d paint. it doesn't work on other materials like aistandard surface and others. inform me if you've solved it
