Don’t get fooled by Sunny’s aegyo. She’s the coolest and one of the most savage of them. She’s been the ninja, the undercover boss and the only adult in the room more times than I can count. Occasionally, Taeyeon’s babysitter, Tiffany’s alcohol buddy, SM founder’s family and a real tv professional. Aegyo persona is something artificial. She turns it on and off rather openly. She’s also a hypocrite, because when Yoona uses her more natural one, Sunny threatens to push her down the stairs.

Not a hypocrite. Yoona was being annoying while the girls wanted to rest. Just know thst this event scarred Yoona and she still flinch when Sunny looks at her. Also I beg to differ regarding Yoona aegyo being natural... it's more on thr annoying and forced side to me. She's cute but it gets annoying instantly. Same for Sooyoung's aegyo it gets irritating real fast. However, I can sit and watch Sunny, Taeyeon, Tiffany and Jessica aegyo all day.

@@TimelessGap2 I agree that Yoona's aegyo is annoying and that she's not generally cute in that way. But it's more natural in a sense of her actually enjoying annoying people that way. It's something she would use in a private situation, which is where all those stories from the members come from. For Sunny everyone keeps saying how she's not like that at all. And she herself turns this cute mode on and off abruptly as if to demonstrate how it's just a comedic tool under her belt and not who she is. And I love this honesty about her personally. Sunny is one of my biases in the group and that "hypocrite" remark was more of a loving joke than criticism.

@@ent2263 I get what you're trying to say. But base on you description Yoona's not natural if she's only using it as a tool to annoy people. Just like Sunny they both turn it off and on. Yoona for pranking and Sunny to entertain. This is just one version of themselves and not the whole. Each member have a time when they use their aegyo even Taeyeon and Seohyun who hates the idea of it the most. We've seen this over the years. I'll take it and say that Aegyo is apart of Snsd. They all use it as tools.

@@TimelessGap2 for me the difference is that for Yoona it’s a side of her personality (the annoying bratty side but something not just for tv), while for Sunny it’s a part of her profession and not something she does much off-camera. I’ll admit that “natural” was not the best choice of a word on my part to describe this difference. Neither of them is a naturally cutesy type. Them two always seemed on the cooler side to me along with Taeyeon. And I love them for that.

Taeyeon used to be so bright, one of the dorkiest member,, but at some point she closed up, BUT it keeps getting better now and hopefully in the future too. She was chosen as the leader because she's the oldest, but as time goes by, you can see that she's the perfect leader for snsd which has members with strong characters. She will let her members shine and support them from behind, but when it's necessary she will step up. I think that's one of the factor that keeps snsd last for this long. Eventhough you don't really like OST i hope you give taeyeon's OSTs a try one day, since she first did it on SNSD's early career till this day you can actually see her vocal growth. And actually the thing i like about the older group is they did a lot of things to appeal the public, from variety show (not youtube show), radio guesting, and special stage performances. You can look up their live on radio singing (yes the video quality is bad) but the audio is good and you can see them sang live and did some covers too

Jessica (and her family) left the US to go back to Korea when Jessica was around 10. Tiffany on the other hand, went to Korea on her own at 15 against her father's wishes. Sunny was born in the us too but was raised mainly in Korea.

I really find SM artists to have really funny/crazy personalities. There's a lot of videos of SM artists during their concerts that are just so funny. I really recommend watching SM Family videos since I feel like you're turning into an SM Stan (someone who likes the majority of SM groups)

Tiffany my Ult in kpop! Her voice is definitely a husky and honey liked sound. The whole "left the company but it's still on the group", means that since they are in good terms with SM, they can still do contracts with them to promote as a group. There's actually quite a lot of multi agencies groups in kpop nowadays. The girls are always together and are known for being great friends, so everything is their favor.

If the rolling in the deep clip is the only one of Tiffany singing, you should take a look at some of her more recent solo work! Her voice in SNSD and in her american solo songs is kind of day and night. She struggled with the higher range of snsd songs sometimes, but now with music under her own direction, she's so much more confident in her voice!

So the girls remained as a group even after they left SM because they’ve talked to the agency prior. When they’re ready to have a reunion comebacks, SM said that they’d be willing to work with the 3 girls again. The 3 girls have also made it a priority to sign with agencies that support their future plans with SNSD and are willing to be flexible. They’re still all on good terms, apparently the CEO contacted Tiffany very recently to support her and the other two still go and visit SM. And they actually performed one of their songs at their previous manager’s wedding not too long ago.

GG) with the remaining members in the label. I think they pushed for it and their decision was respected bc for them, SNSD is 8. But I am not sure bc SM rarely respect their artistsʼ decision. A comeback as an 8 member is still possible, though, and SM is gonna negotiate with the other membersʼ new labels for that to happen.

1. Regarding Jessica, the rumor is that she and Taeyeon didn't get along. Anyway, she has a new YA novel out entitled "Shine," which many suspect is a thinly-veiled expose on her time with SNSD. There may have been some friction with her company as well, since she got blacklisted from Korean TV after her departure from SNSD, and it seemed like the rest of the members were under orders to not mention her ever. Also, her sister, Krystal, is still with SM and was in the group f(x). 2. Sunny was born in the US, but she didn't grow up here. I think she spent a good portion of her childhood in the UAE. She is also the niece of SM founder and CEO Lee Soo Man. 3. My favorite Tiffany moment is still the time when she accepted the KZbin music awards MV of the year on behalf of SNSD for "I Got a Boy." At the show, she said, "KZbin is my best friend! Is KZbin your best friend?" to the crowd - as if she forgot how to speak English for a second. As for still being part of SNSD, who knows? When she, Seohyun and Sooyoung left SM, they all went to different agencies and I suspect that coordinating schedules and money/rights for all the different companies will be difficult. Tiffany came back to America, where artists have a bit more freedom, so perhaps it might be a bit easier for her than the other two. For all practical purposes, SNSD is now Oh!GG (Taeyeon, Sunny, Yuri, Hyoyeon and Yoona). 4. Regarding American TV appearances, the Wonder Girls appeared on the Wendy Williams Show in 2008 to promote their song "Nobody" (check it out!). It might have been a mistake for JYP to try to break into the American market with the Wonder Girls; They were the most popular girl group in Korea, but I think America wasn't ready yet. Arguably, their absence from Korea while over here created an opening in Korea for SNSD to fill. Not related to SNSD, but for 2nd girl groups, you might want to check out T-ara and/or 4Minute. The former has a slew of really catchy songs, and were on the way up to challenge SNSD in popularity until a (BS) bullying scandal destroyed their reputation in Korea for several years. They were still very popular in China, though, and for years, they won the annual Billboard Fan Army Face-off because all their Chinese fans bypassed China's internet censorship to vote. Everything they put out was good, and they had two sets of incredible paired drama music videos worth watching ("Cry Cry" and "Lovey Dovey" [in that order] and "Day by Day" and "Sexy Love" [in that order]). However, their most popular songs were "Roly-Poly" and "Sugar Free," although I also like "Number 9" and "Lies." 4Minute was a popular group under Cube that focused mostly on a girl crush concept. Their break out hit was "Hot Issue" and their most popular song was "Crazy;" their final title track before disbandment was "Hate," produced by Skrillex, but my favorite song of theirs is "Volume Up." 4Minute was plagued by favoritism from their company (and probably the consequent envy from the other members for Hyuna). Hyuna was by far the most popular member of the group and favored by Cube (heck, the group's working name before debut was "Hyuna Group"). She was actually a member of the Wonder Girls, but dropped out for health reasons before coming back to the industry with Cube and 4Minute. She featured in Psy's Gangnam Style video, which certainly boosted her profile immensely. During contract renewal negotiations, she was the only member of 4Minute to re-sign with Cube, which promptly squandered her by firing her after she was discovered to be dating (former) Pentagon member E-Dawn - a "scandal" that nobody actually cared about.

(You will see what I'm talking about 😁) About that question at 21:47, I also don't understand but Tiffany have said before that she's still consider herself a member and if SNSD have future activities she would gladly enjoy the group along with the other 2 members who left as else! Ah I'm glad you're taking the time to get to know snsd! They're such an integral part of kpop history and I think you'll love them! They have had such an impact on the industry and you're right in saying that they are the 'standard' for girlgroups. Jessica's sister is also an idol btw, in another sm girlgroup called f(x) who also make great music (sorry just shamelessly promoting my favourite gg). No one will ever fully know the background behind Jessica's departure but I assume it didn't end on great terms between herself and the company (and maybe between herself and the members) because Krystal (Jessica's sister) completely distanced herself from pretty much everyone in sm after that point and she didn't seem to keen on being around other sm groups after her sister left.

22:19 that is Taeyang from BIGBANG! That is DEFINETLY a group that you need to check out on a TBT, because they are one of the groups that actually paved the way for newer groups like EXO to walk on. If you do react to them, I would say their most iconic song, that actually "put them on the map" was Lies. Fantastic baby is also one of their most iconic songs, and there are songs like Monster in which you get to hear a little bit more of their vocals. I feel like those would be a good start

Bcuz Tiffany just left SM not the group which means she's still having in touch with the members even this August during her bday she celebrated it will all the 8members in korea, even Chanyeol also attended it, I think Tiffany invited him too. Cuz he did Dessert challenge (hyoyeon's new song 'Dessert') with hyoyeon on that place even Tiffany also spotted at the end of the video.
