When learning to shift during the wheelie are you in balance point?

I plan to make a video here soon on the topic. The short answer is yes and no as confusing as that is. I can shift on the way up to balance point, in balance point and most often, behind balance point in a “coaster”. It all depends on how high the rev range is and how the “kick” of the next gear will effect you. If you’re really high up in the rev, it’s ideal to drop back into a coaster for a second to let the bike wind down, then shift and then let the clutch out as you brake forward back to balance point or in front of it. I have tried shifting in a wheelie only two times in both of the times it has just launched me back into looping, I feel like I have a really good control of the wheelie I can go from 25 miles an hour to 10 but whenever I try to shift it just launches me back but I have finally learned how to pull it up in second.

*Good BiVES* I found out why it’s because I give it to much gas when I shift it I need to learn how to let off the gas when I shift in a wheelie

And use the clutch to prevent it from jerking once u shift. Just be careful when letting the clutch back out

Man, my first hard loop was shifting from first to second. Didn't have brake control locked in and did not know how to manage a coaster or clutch while in balance point. Both of these things I plan to make videos on soon! Hope your crashes weren't too gnarly and bike was ok.
