While the Archie Comics are their own universe., that is NOT the case for the IDW Comics. The IDW comics take place in the universe of the games, specifically after Sonic Forces. Characters from IDW are referenced in Sonic Frontiers.

You could watch a another lore video on sonic like "The Entire Sonic Timeline" by Gerfdas Gaming or continue Sonic the hedgehog timeline part 2 , and part 3 from J's Reviews. These are pretty good at explaining the lore.

I just checked out that Gerfdas Gaming video and I might switch over to that video for the next one....I checked out the first minute or so and I like his style

It’s cuz the Japanese lore is the original lore. Meaning it’s the true one.

First, he says that Sonic 1 (GG) can’t be canon for having basically the same story, despite how nothing stops “Eggman attacking South Island“ from happening twice. TailsTube implies that the game is canon.

Sonic 2 (GG) would follow that game, which would come after Sonic 3 & Knuckles. He blatantly ignores lore contradictions for his placement.

To be fair, I'm new to a lot of the lore of Sonic, or at least the deeper lore. By all means, if there is a creator giving better lore out there that I could do for a part 2, then I'll gladly watch that.
