My favorite sea birds! Favorite part is their courtship ritual dance! So funny. They invented the "dab"

I was stationed on Midway for a year in 1974/75 with the Navy. One little detail left out of this video: As the young birds are learning to fly, sharks are awaiting for any that are just too weak to stay airborne. This is one of the few times that you would ever see sharks inside the reef on Midway.

This is great...Except they left out the part where sharks eat the ones who venture into the water as their friends watch in horror from the beach :-(

Did you ever lived there. In 1970 I lived as a child. My dad a naval officer. We lived almost 4 yrs. There was less than 1000 servicemen and their families. The single guys lived in barracks. It is odd that no people lives there besides contractors and fish and wildlife. When I lived there the island allows dogs but absoutly no cats or other mammals. I'm homesick please correspond soon

As a Navy pilot in the 1970's was treated to the "gooney bird" show on the Midway beach during a fuel stop. The birds are great flyers but not very good at take-offs and landings.

I lived on midway almost 4 yrs. My dad a naval officer stationed there 1970. I was a kid and remember every little detail. Attended school at george cannon. 1200 servicemen and their families live here. And single men live in barracks. Every early morning I can hear trumpet rivalry and at night trumpet taps. I wish I could understand about the war. It explains all the rusty fighter planes scattered along the shoreline from the end of the airstrip to my dads naval office. Please correspond with me. These videos makes me homesick I think I recognize my house. My address there I d49 lol. Jaci

Albatross Wings. The birds wings are greatly big But there thin Nature Have some upsides and downsides. There wings make For good flyers but It greatly reduces drag but also reduces lift Also lives where it's lot of windy so it Fly good but if it wasn't windy And the wings wouldn't have enough left to take off and stay in the sky not Not much like eagles and other birds of prey cuz If From the area there lived there is no wind They have to evolve wings that have bigger flight feathers so they could fly in those conditions Cause it's that happened they have to go that

The Hookpod is a new fisheries invention that’s small in size, big in innovation and has huge implications for saving the albatross from extinction. Every 5 seconds an albatross dies on a longline hook. Hookpod is the answer. kck.st/1r1fIKJ

Stewardship, in the Christian tradition, implies protection. [Hu]Man should exist in harmony with the Earth, not work against it as is noted in Colossians 1:16-17 Plans to protect air and water, wilderness and wildlife are in fact plans to protect man. - Stewart Udall
