As someone who loves this build but recognizes your unique challenge in trying to split your attention for commentary/map awareness/etc all at once, I'd say the best thing I can give as advice for this specific build is that your talents are way more important than the base effects of your abilities. It can help to think of it almost like you're using entirely different abilities. With the scattering dynamite you can do some really good poke and even bursts of siege damage by spacing properly and clusterbombing from afar. It's also a huge sustain tool, and as long as you can avoid being locked down and dove you can recover from some absurd amounts of damage and even out-poke some mages, especially if you're firing into a deathball. And lastly so this isn't too long-winded, once you have the 20 upgrade for the hoardapult, think of it like a turret. It applies your dynamite talents, so try to use it on objectives or when the enemy is pushing into your base, wherever it can have the most uptime for damage and you can ideally get to the meat it drops. The number one issue I saw this game was using hoardapult to dive, when that's not what this build or that augment is good for. Sometimes you gotta improvise, of course, and using it to move to secure a kill is reasonable, just gotta be aware that most of the value comes throughout the duration once you have the augment, rather than on the leap itself. Dynamite hogger is almost more like a mage than a bruiser, IMO. It's really hard to play him as a solo tank if the rest of your team is a teamfight comp, since he needs space to do his best work. You can make up for it with certain talents here and there, but yeah, he's a weird boy.

Love the dedication to the road to golden rings! Hogger has a lot of potential if you know how to use him. His playstyle is probably the most flexible bruiser in the game due to his wave clear, camp clear, damage, with a lots of healing, but with a med-high ceiling due to decision making at a moment's notice. So I'll leave some pointers and general tips to become more efficient at what he does best. General kit mentality Q - think diablo stun w - if you take the level 7 talent with W, 99% of the time use it. Don't use w alone. Think of a weird Valla multishot with a 3 zoning areas. E - Think Hanzo scattershot (like how you practiced, looking at angles), but with the mentality with always bouncing back to safety (rare case of chasing for a guarantee e kill). Ult - Horde-a-pault: Look for corridors and people who like to be too close to the wall. Always look to reposition yourself with ult to land an ez Q against a wall (aggressive), or use it defensively when you E in a bad spot (instantly jump out). Don't jump in for the damage, jump in for the setup against the wall. Pretty much always you want to E after the ult so you don't get chained CC (because you're unstoppable in your E). Combo: Ult (into position) -> Q(into wall) -> auto -> e (into them, bouncing against the wall. You may or may not want to cancel the E depending on enemy team/ally team positioning) Ult - Shockwave - Pick it when you need lockdown. Combo: Q (into wall) -> auto -> ult (sweet spot) -> auto -> e (into them, bouncing against the wall) Trait: Priority set it for Camps, wave clear, then occasional random healing. You can also use it to setup a on demand Q stun, but it has a high skill ceiling due to speed. Don't worry about body blocking too much with it, most of the time they can squeeze through (unless large model) chock points, but use it to slow down. Wave clear (before level 7 talent with W) 1. W middle wave 2. line yourself up to be in front of the middle melee creep 3. trait behind middle range creep 4. line up e so you bounce back to where you were standing 5. Q minions into trait 6. auto the rest Wave clear (after level 7 talent with W) 1. line yourself up to be in front of the middle melee creep 2. W in FRONT of the melee minions 3. Q the W (pushing the melee minions into the range minions) 4. go to the side and e the rest (trait is optional) Camps (you are probably the best solo camp taker in the game due to speed and as early as level 1 if you use Q to the camps closer together) I think Grubby does a good job explaining how to do camps so I'll leave it here. i can't believe how many times i have yelled "press Q" to my screen during this video, PALLY!! THE CD ON YOUR Q ISN'T THAT BAD use it think like a diablo with them angles it's literally the same mentality when using your Q doesn't matter what build you go nailing a stun allows for so much more damage. also you can Q over walls so during the obj on this map when any any is standing on the obj closest to the lane you can hit them over the wall and send them into the center pillar. also a tip to clear lanes faster with hogger with the W build, throw your W directly onto the middle melee minion then use your Q and walk into melee range you will hit every single minion with the 3 explosives that fly out and either completely delete the wave or at least get them down to 1 hp depending what level you are but you can just E to clean up the rest or throw your trait to finish off the wave

I think Yrel deserves another shot, she can be really powerful. Yrel's wave clear is nice with E into D+Q, Regen globe will cover the mana cost of your E. Her level 1 Q self heal is amazing. At 4 - Yrels E giving 30 armor to allies is really nice, especially if theres another bruiser with her. Being able to lower the damage allies take by 30% can save lives. Equally her getting access to a root + slow cleanse and mov spd buff at level 4 is a great counter pick, even if you dont cleanse, the mov spd buff and slow removal is really nice. at 7 - W is great for movement and CC, Holy Avenger can help dish out much more damage and Divine steed lets Yrel double soak or get out of fights when you really absolutely shouldnt. Ardent defender lets her live through an insane amount. at 13 lowering enemies damage with your Q, which you use after jumping on a bunch and giving allies armor lets your entire team more survivable. the 16 W lowers enemy armor and does %dmg which when paired with her E gives her meaningful damage And Seraphim at 20 is insane, 2 second unstoppable on a 10 sec cd, for a character based around charging up abilities? Yrel can push people around; CC them, reduce damage allies take, buff allies, soak lanes, and do decent damage while just outright refusing to die.

Hey pally! Not sure if you read these! It’s awesome to watch some Hogger play. He’s one of my favorite heroes and I still feel like I could play him so much better. Not sure if it’s on your list but I spent a decent bit of time messing around with this hoard talents and I found it both fun and helpful in adding hoard to my normal gameplay loop. Plus dumpster fire is really fun to say.

that is personal preferrence tho because i also adore hogger but i dislike his loot hoard build, yes it's really tanky but doesn't output anywhere near as much sustain as his trait build which comes with alot of healing/damage and imo can be more tanky than the loot hoard build even with it's 10 armor from the meat.

if you switch your 13 and 16 talents with Bloodthirst and Furzerker. You can get a lot of value with your autos and can really pack a punch. And you could potentially survive longer when you go in with your secret stash at 20. I've survived 1v3's with hogger before and got out of a fight having full health. Its a phenomonal synergy with hoggers Joggers Keep up the vids pally! Just a little tip from a hogger main!

If you keep your rage up, Hogger can take merc camps faster and without losing nearly any HP than pretty much any character. Hog's strength is lanes and camps

When soaking minions your loot hoard can hit the whole wave if you throw it at the center minion. The hit box is shockingly large and the damage is almost a full auto attack. So when you are soaking lanes between fights and grabbing a quick heal slap it into the wave then break it for the heal. Add in a dynamite or spin through and the wave is gone.

From what I understand about hogger, what really makes him play well is good tas devil setups. If you angle really far from where you are usually its a lot straighter for bouncing between two walls. I would highly recommend using the e build just to at least get more used to it.

Pally, please turn off quick cast on Hogger's E ability. With this, you will be able to line up the bounces so you can get infinite E's. This is especially good when you are doing mercs.

I'll be honest, this champion just feels unfair and unfun to play against. No resource. Brain-dead wave clear. Caught out? No worries, unstoppable away at crazy speeds on a seemingly low CD. Oh, and he can do a lot of damage as well! He has to be one of the poorest designed champs I have ever seen in a MOBA and it feels awful playing against this champ (who often gets just massive XP scores end of match consistently).
