Lowkey super trash right now at classic hydrofoiling, but that's part of the fun! I hope its entertaining/informative watching my learning process, as I really enjoy this challenge. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them!

I’ve been learning how to classic foil almost exclusively behind a jetski myself and have to hold the rope the entire time since the wake is just too small for my weight (190). Goal is to build time on foil and eventually learn to pump to get more into prone/wake stuff.

Good deal! What gear are you using? Right now I'm able to ride without the rope on the 2nd wave of the jetski with the 1180.

@@FoilFanatic42 I’m on a 1600 mid-aspect front with a 28” mast. It’s way bigger than what I ride on my Lift eFoil (4’2, 150in front, 32in back), but once I build some time I’m probably going to downsize. What are your thoughts on how to progress with pumping? Do you need a high aspect wing or can you pump larger mid-aspects used for beginners learning?

@schulzaboy77 You could probably learn on a large mid aspect, but in my experience it is fairly difficult. A high aspect wing made learning to pump night and day easier for me. Also a consistent way to get up. That could be a dock launcher or getting pulled up by something or someone.

How did you get up on the foil? I’m having a hard time behind my jet ski

So the jetski was going around 8-12 mph with a really slow pull to get me out of the water and up on foil. To get up on the foil I start with back foot pressure until the front tip of the board breaches the water then I start to apply front foot pressure to plane the board out. After that it is a balancing game on the foil. Does this help?
