An addictive life is horrible. Mine is food related. I don’t cook properly now I live alone I just eat and eat again even though I’m not hungry. I’ve never smoked but I understand how hard it is to quit because I can’t quit eating. When my marriage ended I promised God that I would never drink alone in my house. So despite having gin here I can do that but I can’t stop the food. You have both been an inspiration. And you make me want to tackle my demons. I’m not belittling your addiction by comparing to food. I’m quite sure alcohol is much harder.

i had two of my teeth coming it completely sideways so having my baby teeth pulled wasn't even an option and i had to have the surgery. i didn't enjoy it and i had a lot of sensitivity along the scars on the roof of my mouth for years (couldn't use mouthwash for a really long time). i would tell gaines not to be scared of the surgery (if she does need it), but she should be proud of herself for doing everything she can to avoid it (in case she is in pain and needs some reassurance that the extractions were worth it).

You're doing the right thing getting those baby teeth pulled. I got braces at 30 years old, got the baby teeth pulled, and they attached the braces to the impacted teeth in the roof of my mouth and slowly pulled them into place. It took 4 years. It would have been so much easier if it was done 20 years earlier when I was a kid.

I don’t recall ever wanting braces but my oldest wanted them too. We just finished phase one in the spring and now we wait for phase 2. I understand how brooks feels. New to Alabama and never had allergies like this. It’s been listing dust, dander, and mold as being the issues.

I remember when sweet Gaines was trying to grow those baby teeth! Can’t believe she’s already having them pulled. It goes by so, so fast. 💕 I come from a long line of alcoholics, and I wanted to say a little quick something. First, CONGRATULATIONS! Second, Cullen, you’d said that AA was not for you. You might truly benefit from Al-Anon also. Sometimes you have to go to quite a few meetings before you find your group. I grew up in Bluff Park, my dad got clean when I was in Middle School. Until the last several months prior to him passing from covid, he attended meetings in Dora. My only question, and y’all don’t have to answer this, is: are you guys using sponsors and keeping a copy of the Big Book? The steps don’t have to be followed to a science, but it’s great to have one around to reference and read a little passage from when you need. Super excited for y’all that you’re both getting it all figured out! ☺️
