Shane it doesn't matter how big they are that u catch, its the fact that u are catching, which is brilliant. U have taken to Lure Fishing like a duck to water. Great video and great to see both u and jordan catching those bass. Well Done

Great vid...i was down there last for a couples with no luck...i was by the bottom of the hill bit by fly over.. got snagged on something and lost my favourite lure and no fish 😂

Yea I lost my favourite lure there as well🥲🥲I’m fishing all different states of tide and trying to figure out when’s best,keep trying it’s the only way

Yes really enjoying lure fishing decided in the winter bought a second hand lure rod from the shop near pokesdown station and some lures and started to collect a few different lures over winter so ready now

Always have a clip swivel between your line and lure, keeps the line from spinning if the lure spins around and makes it easier to change lures quickly.

only ever caught tiny bass in the harbour, going this Saturday to hopefully get some larger ones. Thinking of using mackerel, is that a good idea?

I’ve personally had some very good bass inside poole harbour,lately I’ve been surface lure fishing and caught a lovely bass along with a few smaller ones,keep trying that’s the key a biggy will soon come along sooner or later 👊👍

Hi mate, great vid. Try pausing on the retrieve when you miss a fish. They often take it when its static.

It's super weedy in Holes Bay at the moment. Need to wait for it to clear out over the next few weeks hopefully. If you want more success on the topwater you will find it by using the smaller size top water baits 80-100mm. Match the smaller hatch profile that you find further inland. Good luck mate. Sure I will see you out there soon enough.

I thought poole harbour was a bass sanctuary so you can't target them between April and November? Happy to be corrected if I am wrong

Recreational fishers using rod and line are prohibited from retaining bass in February and March. Catch and release only is permitted during this period. Outside of February and March, recreational fishers may retain two bass per person, per day. Bass retained outside of February and March must measure at least 42cm in overall length (the Minimum Conservation Reference Size). No bass can be taken by fixed or drift nets. These rules apply when fishing from a boat or from the shore. Hope this helps you I just copied and pasted ,also my new video on Wednesday I contacted the fisheries to make sure about fishing for bass in the harbour

@@Fishingdorsetlive interesting and some good info there thanl you. have you seen the map for Poole harbour (quick Google brings it up) there is an orange line that says beyond a certain point the harbour is a bass nursery, I am not sure what this means for fishing and am in the same boat as you and are new to this.
