The Bible Recap helped me to read through the Bible for the first time, and that has changed my life!

This is the second time I listened. After the first time I started reading the Bible and listening to the Bible Recap. I’m on day 311 today and loving it. I love you both! Thank you!

I have been doing the Bible recap for a few months now. A friend told me about this interview so I decided to listen to it today to hear Tara's testimony. I didn't expect to cry. But I have several times now. I too read through the book of Job shortly after my 10 year old son suddenly passed. I learned so much from that book during that time. I am so grateful for Tara's work and her encouragement to keep going and reading it all.

Great answer regarding holding our questions loosely. And it can be frustrating to not know something immediately. Most commentaries however are immediately available online to read. Its certainly beneficial to read trough several regarding specific meanings. But it's important to firstly pray and to ask the Lord not to let us become further confused, disheartened, misled nor frustrated when these views are completely unable to assist or are completely divergent. Whilst we all possess the simple human desire to understand difficult passages, we probably need to understand more practically about how to take up our cross daily and to follow him.

Two of my favorite ladies in one podcast! I've been listening to both of you separately so this podcast is a joy. Just finished the year of listening through the Bible and the Bible recap in a few months. . I really just soaked it in. Now I will do both through again and take it a bit slower so I can focus in on some of those questions and thoughts that I just zoomed over the first time. My story is similar to Tara Leigh's in so much that I have been leading small group without reading in chronological order. I've studied for years and just been piecing it together. That pastor's challenge to TLC has rang in my ears and I am so happy TLC has answered and witnessed to it.

I had a close friend die of cancer (mid 20s) years ago. It was the first time I read Job and I also read A Grief Observed by CS Lewis (a journal he kept when his wife died). I found these books too be so comforting and when I told my Christian friends they didn't understand how these "gloomy" accounts comforted me instead of making me even more sad. People have lost touch with God's Word.

Alisa❣ I am binging on all of your videos and podcasts and learning a lot as a new believer. I listened to Nicky Cruz's powerful testimony and wept. Now I'll read David Wilkerson. And join in the daily Bible reading with your guest. TY 🙏

Thank you so much for all your work, both of you are a blessing. I love your interviews. I read the whole New Testament and was a little worried to start the Old Testament. Now I am excited 🤗

It’s the wildest read ever! I can remember as a child my grandma telling me the bible had every wild story I could ever want to read! I didn’t read it fully until I was in my 40’s! It makes me sad as my grandma has passed and I would love to talk with her about it.

A couple of Comments were about "how to learn to read the bible" and "reading the bible chronologically". Another question could be "where to start reading the bible", especially if this is someone's First venture into the Scriptures. One of many lists is: Mark -> John -> James -> Romans, then Proverbs -> Psalms.

At 11:29 she talked about how she read the Bible in chronological order.. How did you know that? I want to be able to do that too. Any help on how I can know in what order events unfolded in the Bible?

I have also found "Rose Publishing Pamphlets" to be helpful. Far too many to list here. Before the COVID-19 Pandemic I would drive to a local well stocked Christian Bookstore. Looks like many if not all can be obtained on-line. May our Father in Heaven continue to bless you on your journey.

The Bible is about God, and it's also a letter to us. 2 Timothy 3:16 says it's useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training. I'd say this passage is speaking of and to us. I'd say there is application in the Bible (Putting something into operation). We come away from reading the Word asking what did God say and does this call me into action. If I'm off base please correct me.

I prefer to listen to the Bible, sometimes in a rocking chair. Family Radio has daily Bible readings.

Vicki Kusowski I’m so sorry for your loss. ❤️ I recommend Jen Wilkins Women of the Word and then reading and listening to Tara-Leigh’s podcast as you read your Bible daily. If you don’t do podcasts her recap videos are also here on KZbin.

I suggest checking out this website, at least as a starting point. May our Father in Heaven bless you on your journey.

(my opinion) - Bibles I would AVOID: the NIV (too generic. not specific) the Living Bible, the NEW Living Bible and "the Message" (this one is terrible). Why avoid these? Answer: tooooo casual and loose in the wording/translation. Bibles I'd USE: The NEW American Standard translation the NEW King James version translation The CSB bible (Holman) the 1952 Revised standard version J. B. Phillips translation The Jerusalem Bible The Berean Study Bible The ASV (American Standard version)
