As a police officer, I often encounter people with mental disorders, especially Shizophrenia an Despression - many times paired with suicidal thoughts. I‘ve learned so much watching these videos on how to behave and communicate with affected people. At the same time, I realize that I did so much wrong communicating with those people. Never judge someone by their appearance. I think one of the main reasons people don‘t know what to do around people with a visible disability is that they don‘t realize how to interact with them. That‘s because they often just assume that somebody doesn‘t understand what‘s happening around them or doesn‘t have thoughts about their environment just because they are nonverbal. As your interviews prove, thats more often than not the case! Imagine not being able to communicate your thoughts because you‘re non verbal even though you have so much to say but people just assume that you don‘t have anything you to say snd that you don‘t understand what‘s happening around you.
@sarac.32593 жыл бұрын
Such wise words. Many years ago, my mother volunteered at a home for people with severe disabilities, and several people there had cerebral palsy or other conditions and could not speak. Technology was very limited then. My Mum realised over time that many of them had a lot to "say" and had a great sense of humour. She chatted to them and had a good rapport with many people at the home. I hope they are now in a place where they can talk as much as they like. Thank you for your great comment.
@Chicichirumichi3 жыл бұрын
@@sarac.3259 I‘m happy they got to share their personalities with your mother! Hopefully, more representation and better technology can make people look past the initial impression that being non-verbal means not having opinions and humour. This channel certainly shows that!

He is adorable, and so loved. Every time he smiled I smiled. Chris thank you for this channel. I have been watching all of the back videos. You have a special purpose in life, don't ever forget that. The parents and brother are amazing advocates for this child. I can't wait to see future updates.

When his dad says: "I know your secrets" that touched me deeply. They have a strong bond and whatever Hayden needs or tells his dad he can be sure that his dad will always stand for him no matter what.

Oh my goodness. THE COMMENTS! The comments are here. This is the first video I have seen of yours that have comments that last longer than a few minutes after the video is uploaded. I have so much joy! I watched Hayden’s first video and was brought to tears! For 2 reasons, one because such a beautiful story and amazing vibe you portray. And secondly because I was upset that there were no comments to share joy with others. I am so happy the comments are here.

I just watched the previous video of Hayden, I'm so happy he's able to communicate now, you could see all along that he understood what was said to him. It must be great for him to experience this! ❤️
