Dumping product on those eggs, I use maybe 2 teaspoons per skein that size... I’d like to see those eggs after a day in the fridge

Bro there using borXOfire they don't burn because there's no sulfites in this cure. The fire cure is the cure that will burn your eggs if u use to much

Ok so I’m very new to trout fishing and I’ve been using your products based off reputation (love it all worth every penny) but I do more rainbows and brook trout could I use this borax o fire on those eggs as well?
@Alonelyzealot12 жыл бұрын
i tried the same thing i find that its a bit more work but you can make it work if you tie them up in sacs first then drop them into a baggie with the cure in it.

In the video, curing for 20 to 30 minutes or over night depending on the cure desired. I would like to use some single eggs on a hook for trout fishing. Is there a cure time that would allow for piercing single eggs with a hook?
@mitchellforeman42176 жыл бұрын
I have done a hard cure on eggs so they can be on a hook but never had good results. We used hydrochloric acid bath on them it turns them a whiteish color and depending on how long you let them in the acid the harder they get. Most of the time when u put them on a hook they split.

Is it still possible to scrape the eggs away from the skin after using the BorX O Fire? I have some already cured with your product but would like to tie up some spawn sacks.
@millec606 жыл бұрын
Yes, or just tie them up with the skein

Good lord, some 20 mule team borax and brown sugar is all that's needed. We've been doing it for 30 years. Great Lakes steelhead don't know what krill is.

Please do your research before making comments like that - thank you. If you think plain borax is best awesome. We are happy it works for you. However, if you want to get your first drift - every drift - try this.

why do you feel the need to tie roe sacks with eggs scraped from tight skeins when in reality roe chunks in bait loops are a lot easier to produce with the same results?...you've got it all wrong... roe sacks are intended for using loose or single eggs from spawners where the skeins no longer play a role in keeping them in place.

True, but in the winter time when we fish for steelheads during a few thaw days they dont wish to eat anything bigger than a peanut tiny nymphs , 6mm beads are the way to go in these conditions small 2-3 egg spawn-bags shine. Great lakes steel-headers make the bags nice and round (this is important aspect of spwan sacs) this makes it look like a natural egg cluster of 2-3 eggs . There is a lot of finesse to float fishing eg matching the speed of the bottom current having a drag free drift etc , many people ignore this and approach it like bobber and earthworm fishing . I would suggest anyone who float fishes to take a few flys that the fly fishermen use while dead drifting , them try to catch fish dead drifting on the pin.(you have an added advantage of speed and slack control with a centrepin that fly fishermen dont they have to use line management and mends to slow down the indicator!) Take a look at ontariotroutandsteelhead.com/float-fishing/
