This we excellent info concerning getting started. It was also great to see you use someone who is not 20!!!!! That said, I think you should, and would like you to do a video on some additional points from a beginners point of view. There are many of us out here that are not board persons but we sail, snow and water ski, and are average athletes that are really interested in getting to foil. But no one seems to cover these points: 1) Average athlete of older (40-60)years in age (glad you did use someone like that for this video), 2) minimal experience with board sports but may be good with other balance sports such as skiing, 3) which hydrofoil sport to start with and then move to other foil sports such as SUP Surf, downwind, etc... Another way to look at this is, what should be the progression from no experience to any discipline of foiling? This video is the closest I have seen from anyone concerning this but, I still think it falls short of what many of us are trying to figure out. This is also a financial decision so, we need to make the correct decision at the start. Thanks so much for all your great videos. I know alot from you but not this set of questions.

Some really good points here! We are planning on doing something like this soon! Of note, foiling is so different to other watersports, I don't think it matters if you have done anything before. The only advantage I see is that windsurfing does have SOME similarities to wingfoiling (it helps with flying the wing) but it stops there! Wingfoiling is by far the easiest to learn and can be done almost anywhere with water deep enough. The other disciplines are harder and very area specific.

I would be willing to volunteer as it is on my bucket list. I am 65 and do many athletic things. But, I have only surfed a few times a long time ago. Anyway, Thanks for the response!

A good video, but for me the title isn't appropriate. It should be called how long does it take to learn tow foiling!
