I like the little hop he does at the end of a step to make you think he is going to step that direction again but doesn't, it's so crafty.

Terence Crawford used this creeping hopping gallop against Errol Spence - one of the most dangerous pressure fighters in his division. It's great for when you want to pose a lot of danger to an equally dangerous opponent while retaining the ability to be tricky and suddenly change direction in case something comes your way

Thank you! More videos on footwork and little details like these. I feel that a lot of western kick boxing classes lack these finer details.

I recently spent some time in Thailand and it made me realise how poor most training in the west is.

Is this kind of footwork exclusive to Mauy Thai or is it applicable for example for Kick Boxing.
@AlexN20226 жыл бұрын
so here he sits quite low. In another video you were standing pretty much on straight legs. Is that a difference in style? Does MT use both?
@TheCrazyDooshbag5 жыл бұрын
Alex N the lower your sense of gravity is (bent knees) the more stability you have. That is why a lot of Thai boxers don’t move after a solid kick to the arms. That was a good read sir I didn’t know what looked a bit funny but now you’ve spotted it it makes a lot of sense why she kept landing a little off balance when she needed to step right away

But but "Muay Thai doesn't have footwork, Muay Thai doesn't have head movement, Muay Thai is all about stand and bang..." All bets are off when you step inside the ring with a guy like Yodkumphon.

I find that I am sort of trapped by the face or gaze of my opponents and find it so difficult to move off to the side, as if out of politeness or something, I should always be facing them! Perhaps if I were to look more at their chest, or just do more shadow sparring.

I'm notnsure what it's called. It's from the KZbin Audio Library.

We have this same footwork in Mantis Kung Fu. I have a hard time gaining distance because i'm constantly leaving my back leg behind. I can't remember what the move is called but I remember my sifu using the same river analogy also the movement is almost like an ocean wave crashing on a beach that's kind of the movement you wanna achieve.

Do I have to pay $5 each time I watch a video on Patreon?
@8limbsUs5 жыл бұрын
It's a monthly subscription for access. The $5 tier gets you the most recent 15 videos, 2 new vids posted per month. But that's just the library, there is lots of other content as well.
