Hellenism is from Hellenes, the Greek people, which is derived from Hellen, one of the guys that survived the Flood in the Greek Myths. Similarly, Hebrew is from Eber, from which came the Hebrew-speaking Jewish people, who also came from Shem and that's where we get the Semetic name for that language family. Also, Shem's father was Noah of the flood myth in the Bible. Another similarity is that Shem's brother Japheth is similar to the Greek mythic origin of man from Iapetos (or Japetos, J = Y-sound).
