Thanks for this video, it is so encouraging! I am soon to be 45 & I began feeling the divine calling to harp 1 year ago (in 2020). I knew in my heart that it had to do with my prayers for my family. But I also began feeling a desire to minister peace to the older community that has suffered so much through this past 1.5yrs of isolation. I have purchased my harpsicle. I laugh, calling it my mid-life crisis, but it's not- it's the opposite. This harp is a divine new-beginning. I receive simple songs in my prayer time as well- usually as I'm prayer walking outside. I've already been able to put a tune to one of them & I am so overjoyed! I help with the 2-3 yr olds at church & I'm bringing it in for the first time this Sunday to share Jesus Loves Me with them. Be blessed! And happy Engagement!! I am a new follower, as I just received my harp last month. I'm looking forward to learning from your videos. Thanks to Eve for sharing her story!

Great video! Thanks ❤️ for sharing. My story is: I dreamed all my life of playing the harp, but ignored it because I was too old, it was too expensive and so on. 7 years ago, it was actually New Years night, I had this really strong dream of myself sitting at the harp and singing and playing! 2 days later I purchased my first harp to finally make it happen. I am learning since then, as total beginner with no musical background it’s not easy but wouldn‘t want to miss it for a day.

I am almost 60. Never played an instrument in my life. Don’t know how to read sheet music. My pull to the harp is almost identical to Eve’s. I love to play at the homeless shelter and care homes. Even though I am not very “good” at it yet the harp sounds are very much enjoyed. I will have some new Christy-Lyn songs ready when Corona Virus is over and I can play at those places again! Love to all my fellow newby harpists!

I felt this 'pull' when I was only 5 years old. I remember how much I was fascinated by the harp, I was thinking about it a lot, I also drew a lot of harps. I have no idea where it came from. I'm glad that my parents listened to me at that time and let me take harp class. I still feel this very special connexion with my instrument. I think the harp has a divine/magical/spiritual sound. I loved hearing both of your stories, even if I'm an atheist (but still spiritual). I hope it would inspire a lot of people to listen to their inside 'pull', overcome their fear and start learning this beautiful instrument. Thank you so much for sharing! :) (English is not my first language, sorry if there is any mistake)

So nice to hear this inspirational story! It validates mine; starting at age 70! I never thought of playing the harp until I had a chance to try one, and now it is a major part of my musical life.

I’m so glad you put this up!!! This is EXACTLY what I’ve been through! Only I was driven to learn back in high school but we couldn’t afford lessons, so my husband, knowing my deep rooted desire to learn the harp, decided to give me the means and now I’m slowly learning. I can’t read music but I play entirely by ear, something I’ve always been able to do. It’s amazing to know I wasn’t the only one to have this experience!

I first felt the pull about 10 years ago when I took a class called "And I always wanted to play the harp" at an arts festival. I left the class so happy and inspired. But I talked myself out of pursuing it. I'm so grateful that I got nudged again and listened this time. So at age 55, I'm 2 weeks into this process and loving every minute of it!

Beautiful story--and the best part is that it's still in progress--and always will be. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us, Eve, and to you, Christy-Lyn, for making a way for us to hear and experience it. I often wonder why so many of us seem to have this similar story with the harp. Why is it that we see these huge harp conferences all over the world that are filled with people of all ages who are experiencing this same mysterious pull? What is it about the harp that resulted in it specifically being the instrument that would do the pulling? Of course, we know that the harps themselves are not the ones doing the pulling--they are a tool used by the One who is the ultimate Puller. I cannot help but be reminded of the verse "If I be lifted up, I will draw all men (and women) unto me." Notice there is no age requirement with this verse. :) It's so great to meet and hear the stories of others who have responded to that pull Thank you again for sharing, Eve, Christy-Lyn, and Megan!

@@LearningtheHarpharp Through a series of events and an answer to prayer I was offered an opportunity to try out a harp from a friend. I enjoyed it and having researched possibilities I have rented a Ravenna 34 it arrives next week. It’s like making up for lost time! I am praying for my singing voice to be restored too. I am on a new journey and I’m looking forward to what the Lord will do.

I’ve always been drawn to the harp. I’m currently learning the violin on my own. Now I want to add the harp. The hardest part for me right now is picking a harp. And I must say that it is difficult to get past the ‘your too old to learn’.
