Great video.. I'm an English speaker and I'm amazed at how closely the languages seem to be structured! I think it'd be fun to learn German! And easier for me than the Spanish I'm working on now... the structure is so different from English.
@tannermanner9711 жыл бұрын
Spanish is way easier than German.
@summerbreeze543811 жыл бұрын
I'm having trouble with the Spanish. I'm not sure if it's easier or harder, just when I hear German and see it next to English, it feels much more familiar. I was looking online and I keep reading that the closest languages to English are Dutch and then German. So maybe that's why.
@summerbreeze543811 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Gabriel for the great feedback and encouragement! You've inspired me to keep at it, and I admire your efforts in your own studies as well! As you say it can be confusing at times and make someone's head spin! good luck Adiós mi amigo!
@zorax1511 жыл бұрын
Gabriel Benigno It must be indeed confusing to have a female noun with a female article that when transformed to the dativ suddenly is used with what looks like the male article. :P But if I may give you an advise, don't get frustrated because of the German articles and don't put your main emphasis on getting them all right at the beginning. This is just practise, practise and more practise. You can be perfectly understood and no one will blame you when you mess up with the articles since German people know that it's very hard to learn and takes a lot of time. Getting the verbs right is more important to express yourself. Nicht aufgeben! ;)
@BenTennison1610 жыл бұрын
Abby Hill sorry mate, but not quite. German is relatively similar to English at the beginning. But as soon as you get into at least intermediate level you will realise that the languages and their structures are quite different. The thousands of Latin-based words that are found in English (responsibilty, possibility, creche, transaction etc. etc.) are no longer there and you need to learn all the words with pure Germanic origin. Whilst German (just like any other European language) uses a lot of old Latin or Greek based words - i.e. Schule, Geologie, Psychologie, etc. - it stops being similar quite early on. The languages are different , simple as that. At least it's not Chinese lol .

There are mistakes in the subtitles. 0:37 "zu einem andereN Gegenstand", not andereM 5:09 "... zwischen den FahrräderN". Fahrräder is the plural of Fahrrad and it takes an extra N at the end to form the Dativ Plural

Some German prepositions go with either Dativ or Akkusativ, for example, an, auf, in, neben, zwischen, vor, hinter, ueber, unter. The rule is that to mean the position we use Dativ, to mean the movement we use Akkusativ. For example, Ich bin im Cafe. (Position--Dativ). Ich gehe ins Cafe. (Movement--Akkusativ). (IM = in dem, INS = in das).
Danke schon. Der beste Weg zu lernen. I am glad to find this channel.
