I highly recommend doing a 1-1 session with Colm, he's succinct and compassionate and really understands this practice and how to apply it to your individual problems. Thanks for your vids and clear teachings, Colm!

Colm , i learned from you, to add help for my shoulder, ribs and obliques, hips, i added moving my shoulder up and down with my hip hiking and added the awareness of ribs with a movement i did with, Susan Koenig , Eric Cooper, fortthe giron, at that time. That wonderful Somatics experience we can gain, you seem to help me at a different level.

Great little series of movements I enjoyed them. I do do find my left hip is harder to hike than the left, it is more stuck.

Make sure you are allowing the right side to lengthen when you hike the left.

Can we do these on a bed or is a harder surface better?
@LearnSomatics5 ай бұрын
Good question. Bed is okay but floor or harder surface is better. For example I shoot my videos using my table but I much prefer to practice on the floor. Harder surface gives clearer feedback.

My client had a sliped discus hernie 3 weeks ago. Can I let him go to laying down on the yoga mat? And how is the best way to bring him up again???
@LearnSomatics Жыл бұрын
Hi Moncia, hard to say, you might be better off doing some seated movements with them instead if they aren't confident about getting up and down off the floor. Or alternatively they could do them in bed. Here are some seated movements you can explore from Susan Koenig: kzbin.info/aero/PLZ4qHLITBsutKZ3kdxN0_ftY4Plt-mc-u

How do we know when are head turns to the same side of the leg in this case or the opposite ? I usually try to move my shoulder when I move my hips.
