I think a combination is good - these lessons probably work best if you’ve at least tried learning the song first. Then you can come in and compare your version with mine and pick out the bits you like!

LearnSomeDrums that’s pretty much what I did, but it was taking forever I had to keep rewinding the song and what not, I like how you slow everything down so I can pay attention to everything that’s going on.👍

Yeah I could probably do that! The most classic exercise is playing doubles and accenting the SECOND note, so rR lL rR lL. I remember doing that for hours. Eventually your doubles will really even out and speed up!

Course it's not tricky you playing HALF THE SONG-cross-stick/rim-clicking? Watch MTV's Daytona Beach version of Adams Song live, or any live show or vid from 00-06. Travis was striking multiple metal rims. I also wrote "H" by Tool-"Wood Blocks LOL! ", we had a heck of a time explaining to kids he used electronic drums who hadn't been to a show. "Chain Lightning" RIP Neil, is one of my favorite songs to play since it's impossible to perfect. I've never seen ANYONE play it close to the album version and this is due I'm guessing to lack of live versions, videos mostly. In the BBS days we used abreivation keys-normal, lines SOMETIMES, but much later, notes stacked upon each-other w/tons of liner notes broken into four bars. Took forever to write that much less upload it. Lack of performance/programs was a henderence but if you've played video game's w/ instruments, it's likely much easier to learn than standard tabs. I'll send you the old links if you wish. I think people would respond much better than they did at the time myself, and other musicians wrote. Have fun with it and make it your own after accomplishing mastering the song! GL, and I was taught to practice a bar at the most tell perfected and the one I had the most trouble with. Piano/Precussions/Drums/Violin/Flute. After that it was all down hill-everyone's different I know helped me maybe vids for more advanced drummers or ones who request certain parts/timming that are giving them a headache.
