LOVE LOVE LOVE the notation on the screen As a musician learning basic harp its way easy I’d love to see solos slowly notated along with full solos all the way through

The harp player is the great Norton Buffalo. Nice lesson
@gsteve81252 жыл бұрын
Norton Buffalo did play on a couple of Doobies tunes in the later 70’s but, not this one. Tom Johnston played the harp on this song.

Great tutorial! I play this in one of the bands I am in and it's one of my favourites. But this riff is really difficult to play as per record. I can get there but it's not easy and this tutorial really helps to break it down into sections to practice. Thanks!

This solo is my ‘White Whale’ - been try’n to crack the sucker since 1973 . . . most other people’s versions are ok, though pretty straight forward, but this one is the Rubik’s Cube of solo’s . . . Oh well, looks like it’s back to the drawing board, AGAIN !!! Sorry to my neighbours Thank you for posting son, this means a lot for me

Awesome tutorial! Thank you so much! It's actually simpler than I expected. Note I said simpler, not easier. I expect the challenges with this will be timing, achieving speed, and the doing it all consistently.

I play the last line as +3 x 6 because the feel is more percussive using diaphragm hits (releasing the build pressure, if that makes sense)

As per usual, a brilliant lesson, Liam of a "hard riff for me," makes it attemptable . It would make it even easier if you could do a full play along with the fantastic graphics at the end . I generally learn by ear and to play a Longside makes it possible for me . Again, brilliant lesson, thank you.

hey Liam thanks for putting the tabs out there. was on a blues guitar channel that was featuring some Mississippi John Hurt song and he was SELLING his tab. and i thought its pretty shitty how he is profiting of someone else's intellectual property. peace

Classic harp solo! I've done it once or twice with my band, but this really spells it all out; thank you! BTW, is the Special 20 your favorite harp? It sounds great, in my opinion.

Thanks, glad you liked the video! Yeah I find the S20 is a good compromise for me - reliable, playable, but not too expensive.

He absolutely missed the entire theme. High speed trains ooze from the song. The Doobies pour coal into that fire box. The harmonica IS the steam locomotive. Sexy too, right? The host of the video is an amateur brick layer.
