As Taz said in a response, one can do it for practice but for a pure road car it may not be worthwhile because the mass distribution will keep changing - and for most road cars there is little one can do. If you're doing track days, or 'fast' drives on 'mexican' twisting roads, it may be worthwhile. For example, I had a small road car I did some track days on and it was quite unbalanced with understeer on left turns and oversteer on right turns - at Bay Park for those with long memories - turned out to be a bent front ARB, which I 'fixed' by adding spacers to one of the drop links.

can't corner weight the car if it keeps shifting its weight on each corner every time we load up the wife and kids haha.

I still corner weight my daily, because why not? That’s why I have coil overs! Besides, its great for the occasional track day or backroad bombing. 😅

Why not both… if you already have a means to do so
@hpa1012 жыл бұрын
If you have the means to, for sure, great practice if you need it. If youre paying someone to do it for you or dont need the practice, not worth it. Tim's comment on not doing it is based on if you think it's going to actually be worth it for a road car, which it's not, unless you are getting something else from it outside of what he talked about such as experience. If you don't need experience, spend the time on something else more useful 👌 - Taz.

@@hpa101 yeah definitely wouldn’t go out of the way to do it, but it could do a lot if the car is quite front biased to begin with and one is able to correct that by adding/moving weight

You're not going to notice a difference dropping the kids off to school though is the point here. No matter how bad ass we think we are driving on the road, it's nothing compared to Targa or circuit racing etc. Don't take our word for it, check the data. If you use the car on the track though, for sure, its any easy win that like a good alignment can make more of a difference than expensive shiny parts do - Taz.

@@hpa101 your stuck in thinking weight distribution only affects handling(or that handling is what id be after from it) my rear tires spinning all the way through second gear on the daily is what im addressing by moving weight. My car cant fit anything bigger than 235s in the back and has pretty much no rear weight

@@hpa101 moving a hundred or couple hundred pounds over the rears is definitely going to make a noticeable difference in traction, i already know that is a fact(for many but not all cars of course)
