Thanks for showing the correct way to train a puppy. Unfortunately the folks I got my LGD from , this was they first litter, they didn't keep the pups with the goats - they liked to stay under the car and were played/socialized by the young children. I didn't know enough to know that I shouldn't have agreed to getting her at 7 weeks of age. My border collie is better with the goats than she is. If I could, I would rehome her and get a dog who know its job. She is too rough with goats, so I use her more as a guard and Sammy guards the goats. Hope you feel better soon most of us in east Texas are having severe sinus problems right now. Take care.

Just a suggestion about feeding the puppy. The dish should be moved away from the fence where the goats are. He’s trying to eat and gobble his food down too quickly because the goats are trying to stick their nose’s there. He will learn to gobble his food down too quickly for the rest of his life. He’ll get very possessive of his food. I know about dogs, but I don’t know about goats or any other farm animals. Lol I hope you feel better soon I pray for your speedy recovery.

We got a new great pyrenee's puppy about 2 weeks ago. She is 1 year 1 month old and was not raised with Goats. It is going to be a challenge to get her to bond with the goats. She was in with one of our better females and a small herd last night and cried all night. She wants to be with people. We will give her a couple of months.

I’m a dog trainer and what helps in this situation is just letting them drag the leash around for a little bit and using food for a reward throughout the time him dragging it around but he looks like a nice dog

Love the puppy. I've got 10 puppies I'm caring for right now. Momma didn't make enough milk to feed them so I had to bottle feed them. Have them on soft puppy food and will transition them to dry puppy food at 8 weeks or so . Already getting big lol . Catahoula and pitbull mix . Hopefully I'll find good homes for the 7 that are still available for adoption. I continue to pray daily for you and your family and hope you feel better soon ❤️.

Looks like you've got a winner of a pup and a good training process! I used a 20 foot equine lunge line for field training once I got my pups lead trained on the shorter line. It made for great teaching control and prevented having a bad habit develop. I kept them on it until they were sure-fire obedient to voice commands.
