It perplexes me why so many peeps hate Crazy Nights-It's in my top 10. AWESOME ALBUM. And.."My way" may just be my favorite. That melody is so fucking strong! The only part of the album I don't like is the chorus of Bang bang you; the verses are strong!

I've always preferred the studio version of RARAN also. Maybe it's because I first remember hearing it in the opening credits of KISS Meets the Phantom in '78. RARO was my first KISS album, because the cover was spinning in the opening credits, while RARAN was playing, so I thought that was the album it came from. Hey, I was only 9, cut me some slack! You nailed the tune's switch between HTH (my top LP of theirs) and DTK. "She" is doomy, dark while "Comin' Home" will get you "dancing in the aisles", which I recall how Peter Criss described DTK in a "Rock Scene" mag article back in the day.

Wow! Thats the first time I ever heard anyone say "eh" about "Got To Choose" , that's probably my all time favorite KISS aong. Probably. It's definitely in the top three. But it's a tough thing you're doing here with a couple of these.. it's tough picking my least favorite songs of the first few albums. It gets easier as they went on 😊. It's funny just last night at work I was talking to a buddy about how when Unmasked came out, my mom took me to the mall to get the album the week it had come out. Back then you would know about release dates and things like that by reading Circus, Hit Parader, and Creem magazines. I remember it was the summer time when it was released, I could go look up the date but I don't want to (😮), I remember that because im pretty sure I was off school. I was a ten year old kid, I had called the record store in the mall to make sure they had the new KISS album. I had all the KISS records at that point and all I did was listen to KISS, play air guitar, draw pictures of them. Every inch of my bedroom walls was covered with posters of them and eventually I made the big decision to cut up my big collection of KISS magazines so I really could cover every inch of my walls. I'm sure Almost Human remembers all of this stuff because he looks close to my age but anyhooo.....back then all the rock magazines were always doing special editions that were all KISS..like all the time and if not, there was guaranteed articles and pictures every month. In the first part of 1980 KISS was still riding high off of Dynasty's success so I think that why they were always being covered in the mags. God, I miss the days when we had all those rock magazines. I remember sitting in the car on the way home staring at the Unmasked album cover and being not sure how I felt about it. I think I think deep down I didn't like it but my ten year old, kiss army brain didn't want to admit it to myself. Got it home and loved "is that you?" It rocked and it sounded so different to anything that I really had heard before. It was the way Paul sang in the verses mixed with the production which made it so different to me, I think. Then "shandi" came on and I was like wtf?????.....😂

After "Creatures" is where I had to stop following along with you. The KISS I loved was no more after that. I could've said "Dynasty" cause when Peter left my heart broke. I did give Eric Carr a fair shake & accepted him. After Ace left & the makeup came off is when I stopped buying KISS albums. I never could accept Vinnie... Gee, I wonder why?

haha great vid! i do agree with some of your picks... i've hated 'rocknroll all nite' for the last 41 years, though... 'Oydessey' is cheesy as all hell- it reminds me of my grabdparents' house, a sad and cold place if there ever was one.. what you said about 'She' and 'Comin' Home' is pure genius. a band like the Melvins should cover 'Hotter...' form start to finish... i really dig 'Danger', a bona fide 80s metal tune- from Creatures, i truly loathe I Love it Loud... i like 'Hooligan'- Peter's drumming is really good there; 'Tommorow and Tonight' and 'Then She...' are the awful ones for me- and 'Almost Human' is a GREAT heavy song, congas and all, BUT mr. Witz blatantly ripped-off Grand Funk's 'Sin's a Good Man's Brother'... Beth and Great Expectations are horrible, they make me wanna wear a bag over my head, to hide my shame... 'See you in Your Dreams' is as stupid as Gene's hair, it goes nowhere fast and maybe it's proof of when older, conservative people used to claim that rocknroll was something created by the CIA in order to turn potentially revolutionary flaming youth into mindless zombies haha... I like all of Ace's 70s/early 80s songs, he was my hero, and his 1978 solo LP is my fave Kiss-related thing ever... Revenge is a glam/hair album that i just don't get, but the drumming is good and 'Unholy' is a Danzig-like dark n' heavy maestrpiece, i must say. instead, Carnival deserves an 8 outta 10, great stuff, except for the one you mentioned and the one that Bruce sings. i actually fell in love with Kiss again thanks to Carnival of Souls- i stopped buying their stuff after Asylum, they were just too poppy and silly-looking for the Black Flag/Celtic Frost thrashin' maniac i had become... blahblahblah... anyway, one of your greatest clips, man!

Almost every kiss album at least 9 out of 10 of them. They always used one song as a filler and it threw the album off a tad bit enough to keep some albums from being an A quality studio album. Dressed to Kill, Creatures, Lick it up, and Revenge were probably the only 4 studio albums they did not just throw any song or cover song in the album list. And those are the only grade A studio albums the rest are B's.
