Cool, but how do you ensure that those grooves don't lose their shape if you use leather moisturizer to prevent the leather from drying out? There is literally nothing reinforcing the shape.

Thank you. I am not sure I understand your question correct. Generally the leather is dry, if you put a lot of later on them an move them around a lot chances are they will lose there shape. By 'leather moisturizer' I guess you mean something like oil; if you not soak the leather completly in it if will still be dry leather. Maybe the point that you missed is that it is vegetable tanned leather, which is different to the more common crome tanned leather; veg tanned leather is much more stiff, you can moisten it shape it and when it is dry it will keep the shape. Also the resist closes the openings in the leather, makes it more resistant again water, oil, etc and hardens it too. You could even moisten it and put it in the oven at 60°C and make it very hard this way. I hope this somehow answers your question
