Among the ingredients of an excellent product, the story-telling of the inspiration behind it must be one of the most important. This has been most informative. Thank you.

Impressive work and I love to hear the story behind them. When I looked at your attache case, I recognised the handle and immediately wondered if you had thought of Grandad! He'd have been so very proud as would be the four generations of Norfolk shoe makers that went before you.

Super interesting to hear about your inspiration and how you translated that into different designs! Also, I adore that last bag- any chance something like this will be included in the course?
@LeathercraftMasterclass3 жыл бұрын
Possibly yes, or at least something similar as I sold the rights to that design.

I love the design of the 1st and 4th bags. The natural neck texture of veg tan hide of the 4th bag is so stunning! Do you apply any finishing to that leather to protect water and dirt?
@LeathercraftMasterclass3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes I make my own wax finishes, but there are many good ones on the market, especially Saphir products.

Like the attache case. Is that color called London Tan of Sedgwick? When I was young used attache(the company made) like American Tourister(old model and beautiful) and Delsey(bought in 1980) and now only use the backpack.
@LeathercraftMasterclass4 жыл бұрын
Hello. The colour is called London tan, the leather isn't from the Sedgwick tannery though.

Can you explain more or do a video on the flipped bag/french (inside seam) & pipping technique displayed on the coffee carry-on bag? Thank you!

I'm just starting out in leather craft. I LOVE this first bag. I'm going to get the basics and then sign up for a 6-month plan and make this bag! I would love to see you make a backpack - For example, I am in love with some of the Coach designs but I wouldn't know where to start in terms of creating a template influenced by them. Is a backpack something you are open to?
@LeathercraftMasterclass3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes a backpack is currently being designed for a course. I can't give exact dates yet as I still need to prototype the design.

Thanks for another great video. "If you don't have an answer as to why you are doing it, then perhaps you shouldn't be doing it." Well said. Do you ever use a sewing machine?
@LeathercraftMasterclass4 жыл бұрын
Thank you John. I only hand stitch as this is what I enjoy. Nothing wrong with using a sewing machine, just down to personal preference and requirements I believe. 👍

Yes, all hand stitched. This has always been my personal preference when producing fine leather goods. 👍
