Leather Trunk by Saddleback Leather - How It's Made

The leather trunk is made from the toughest leather we can find (full-grain leather). We line the inside with pigskin, which is tougher than cowskin. It's sewn together with a thick UV-resistant polyester thread (the same kind used on ship sails and parachutes). Our hardware is a custom 316 stainless steel that is complete overkill, but we wanted to guarantee we never had an issue of hardware failing.
There are no breakable parts like zippers, springs, snaps, buttons, or velcro. Nothing modern. Just hard buckles and a leather hinge, like they used to make them, but a little stronger. We had a goal to think of all the details and put them into the design of this piece. Not good, but great; the results are amazing. We believe we have created the most perfect trunks for your home or office.
