I always do this with the Victorinox bottle opener. It's nice to see the Arc can do this too, as the Wave/Charge cannot.

If the lid is hard to open, turn the jar upside down in your hand and smash with your fist the bottom of the glass. 1 smack to the bottom and enough air can pass through to relax the content to atmospheric pressure.
