Hi Fab, when you have time check out the Leatherman Charge+ . It's not fat and bulky like the tti. Has 154CM blade( harder on Rockwell scale than S30V)which stays sharp longer. Diamond cut file,gut hook blade, scissors,etc. Really lean on mine. Like it almost as much as my P4. It's a great multi-tool that gets overlooked.

Wow! I’m actually very impressed with this revision. It would be interesting to see it compared to the Wave. The addition of the bit driver and the S30V, titanium... I may be considering this one. Seems like leatherman is really trying or at very least listening to their dedicated consumer base. I really appreciate the overview, Fabs!

Its really enlighting n informative review, mate. U nail it! 😎. But i've wondering ever since: can we replace this TTi plier with a Wave+'s plier with replacable wire cutter? I ve a 2008 TTi version with a crimper in its plier, without replacable wire cutter.

Hey man, i think you did a great job. As others have commented, you did forget the bits. I'd also say that the hook on the back of the blade is spot on for field dressing a deer or "gutting". You started to mention this and stopped for some reason. But all in all, i enjoyed the video and i ordered me one. I also love that you compared it to other models, to really help the viewer decide which model is best for them. Personally, anyone talking trash on this, is just upset that they don't have the titanium model. Lol. It's awesome.

The titanium model is just a perfect fit, im a solider anf un the field a more durable tool with bits is a very useful and reliable companion, I do use the Leatherman supertool and free 12 I think it's a small one but does it's job very well, in the Bundeswehr we say as much as necessary as light as possible, this really does it for me.

I've had my charge tti since like 2007 or 2008, I love it. Its my edc although I keep surges in all my packs just in case I don't have my edc. There are probably a video or two on my channel showing how I set it up with a ferro rod and pocket bellows along with the bit kit and extender ... all in the leather case.

Wish they would do the free p4 in titanium with the pins made out of a really really stainless steel. This looks nice, but the p4 is just so awesome with the way the tools open.

S30v is prehistoric and the play in the main blade (up and down) really doesn’t give me much confidence (i have handled 6 examples all the same) also if you use the hacksaw on the side of the files it pretty much instantly removes the diamond particles
@Fablades3 жыл бұрын
True but still s30v is enough for the majority of people, just performing light tasks.
@alastairwhigham92833 жыл бұрын
@@Fablades i agree to an extent but with how overbuilt the charge is in its body it seems strange to have such a slim profile blade with an older super steel , the weight and build of the body makes you feel like its indestructible and people generally beat on multi tools pretty hard without maintaining them like pocket jewellery knives . I have the original tti and other than its driver bits and the pliers it rarely gets any use as its so much weight for quite limited functionality/performance , i loved the concept but i think the execration and slop in the blades is poor for the price point Please take no offence as i think leatherman has its perks but the 2 files and the hacksaw edge is just trying to get too many functions out of one blade space and the diamond strips off within a couple of light uses
@Fablades3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the feedback, no offence of course!! Appreciate the insight 🙏
@johnsullivan67092 жыл бұрын
S30v prehistoric? It's a super steel being used by top end knife makers. What would you suggest instead?
@Fablades2 жыл бұрын
S30v is still a great option, maybe S35vn would be the ideal one considering coat and performance
@superwout3 жыл бұрын
Purely esthetical i guess but I don't like the chamfering and drop point... prefer the harpoon tip more symetrical style sturdy blade of the P4
@Fablades3 жыл бұрын
Actually also a bit functional, the different blade profile will suit more some kind of cuts than others
