Leatherman Juice: old style vs new style - what's the difference?

Note: Bother the Rebar and Juice series use the square, 3 D , Phillips bit to connect thier optional bit driver / extender. Then you can use all the 1/4” hex style bits !

Obvious differences not mentioned here. 1. As a consequence of the different slabs the newer version is heavier. 2. The blade is shorter on the newer version not just a different shape. My personal take is I prefer the old one.

Add the extra blade length and for crying out loud add a clip on it Leatherman. Stop making new tools and improve the tried and trued tool you got. 😊

The teeth on the pliers are different too. The old model have fine teeth and the new model have wider teeth. Leatherman warranty is good in that they replace your tool with a new one. Only downside is that i had a problem with the pliers on my Juice S2 and they sent me a new Juice CS4. I rang them to tell them i didn't want a CS4 as i have had one in the past and i prefer the S2. They couldn't get me an S2 as leatherman have discontinued them and they don't have the parts to fix mine. So i no longer have an S2 and I'm stuck with a CS4 which i don't want. So the warranty sucks in that sense as it doesn't cater for anyone who bought multitools say 10 years ago and are now classics and won't get the same model if it becomes faulty. So even though the warranty is for 25 years you don't get the same tool back

If the new rivets are anything like my PS4 Squirt, they’re smaller and more flimsy than the older Squirt P4 model. Chances are if the rivets are less sturdy, so are the pins, and it sure feels that way comparing my two Leatherman Squirt’s. Age old story- cutting costs, getting greedy, and screwing up a good reputation.

Tim Leatherman stated in an interview that even if your tool is over 25 years and something is wrong- he' ll still handle the warranty!

That's correct!👍....I sent my old retired 1990 PST with broken pliers, but since it could not be repaired, they sent me a new Rebar with the new metal rivet nylon sheath.

Thanks for the video. I've been looking for a side to side comparison. Is it my imagination, or is the large flathead driver on the new model a little shorter than the old one?

+Brady Blackburn no problem man, thank you for stopping by. I just measured and the large standard driver on the new one is the slightest amount longer than the old one, maybe a tad more than 1/16"
