I have a Rebar and I really love it. Im in plant maintenance and it works great. Saved me many a trip across the facility to grab something out of my box. It's extremely rugged. I think it would be a fine tool for the outdoors

I have the original leatherman I received as a gift in late 80's or early 90's. I bought the bigger tool with locking mechanism. My sister gave me a wave for Christmas few years ago. I occasionally carry my original as a pocket knife, other two go in a pack, but this new rebar rides on my belt every day👍. I stumbled into your old rebar video and thought beautiful minds think alike 👍. Hope your enjoying your weekend Dan. See ya.🇺🇲🔪🌲🔥

The Rebar is a great tool. I have three of them now, lol! Getting all the yard work done today so first thing tomorrow morning I can head for the woods.

Just an update if you care. My Bushcrafting,is coming along nicely, thanks to my Rebar and persistence. I believe it to be helpful during these perilous times. I have begun the arduous task of building my off grid homestead in the Ozarks. My Rebar is used numerous times each day for various tasks. Amazing what uses you can find for a good Leatherman Rebar. I bought a 2nd one as a backup in the coyote brown finish. My wives call it my Sunday knife,haha! Take care my fellow Bushman!

I’ve had my knife less rebar for 3 days now and I don’t think my wave will see much use anymore. Knives are banned at work so I was done pushing the boundaries with my wave and got a knife less one. First day and every tool was used, it does take a bit to break in tho, the pliers were incredibly tight out of the box. Very impressed

Biggest asset that the Rebar has is how much functionality it has for the size. I EDC the Rebar because it can get lost in my pockets. I love the Wave but its just too bulky for Edc. Tool has helped me several times when i woulda been stuck

Nice review, the rebar is my favourite leatherman got it when it first was released. I have used it more than I imagined I ever would, unfortunately it was stolen. The price of Leathermans here in the UK have risen dramatically, so bought the BO version as a replacement, because it was on offer. However I am now scared to use it as don't want to damage the finish on it🙈🙈, as really like the look of it. So my advice to anyone thinking of buying one, is buy the stainless steel version

Just the info I was looking for, thanks for posting this. I've got an old Leatherman SideClip that lives in my range bag. It's 7 tools total but works well for shooter needs. I decided I wanted something geared more toward bushcrafting without feeling like I'm carrying a bunch of tools I'll never need. I considered the Wave but everyone seems to think they're too heavy and overkill. As far as sawing, I've got a Silky Pocketboy 170 that handles the majority of my needs, so about the only time I'd need a detail saw like the Leatherman would be notching the hearth board on a bow drill. If it can handle that I'd call it successful.
@ochocobushcraft17424 жыл бұрын
Thank You for watching! I also love the Silky. It is an awesome little saw.

@@ochocobushcraft1742 I actually ended up buying three Rebars: one stays in my bushcraft bag, unless it's on my belt - pretty handy really. The other two went in our vehicle consoles, along with combo edge Spydercos for emergencies. I keep full tool bags in each vehicle but it's nice to have quick access to basic tools without digging through the bigger bags.

Been using Victorinox pocket knives for half a century. Walking stick making hobby. Excellent saws. Push-pull. Leatherman saws are ok, but not as good. However, I do use my Leatherman Surge kit as primary light bushcraft tool. With the blade exchanger any Bosch or other brand of T-shank saw blade can be used. I carry some long rip cutting blades, fine-tooth blades, even metal cutting blades. And there is the bit socket with adapter that can take any standard bits. Great awl, great heavy pliers. Awesome serrated blade. Heavy, yes, but a real tool kit. Rebar saw is the same as several other Leatherman. Not made especially for Rebar. I mean the blade and teeth. Exact shape and length might alter on diffetent sized tools. Rebar is also great, but, Surge is more heavy duty. Can put together a serious shelter. Another plus about the Surge is that the diamond file is removable, so it can touch up the Surge blades. Worth the extra weight. Though the Rebar is indeed a high quality tool, and probably enough for most light bushcraft. My Victorinox Spirit, and the bigger SwissTool, are close. Best engineering of any multitool. I've been using my big SwissTool for 22 years. Thanks, and Cheers from Israel!

I have always wanted to do Bush craft. I have a Rebar...how to begin?
@ochocobushcraft17424 жыл бұрын
Easiest way is if you live in an area where Bushcraft classes are taught. Next best thing is watch lots of you tube videos and go out and duplicate what you watched. I still do this. If I see a new shelter that I like, I go out and build it. A new snare, deadfall, firemaking technique, etc. Watch, take some note, go duplicate. Soon you will have developed some fine bushcraft skills. I have a lot of instructional videos on my channel. From using a ferro rod to assembling a kit. Study a video like you are in a class, then go do it. Enjoy!!!
