Good points. I stopped carrying a Victorinox SAK after I got a Leatherman Free T4.

A great - and unbiased - demonstration of the similarities and differences between comparably sized Victorinox and Leatherman multi-tool.

Thanks, Masata240. It's just a shame the Victorinox Grand Prix can be a bit hard to find these days

best video, by far. You make it easy for us to really get a good look at the knife. Thank you.

I stopped carrying my Alox Pioneer X after getting the T4. It’s been my favorite pocket multitool for about 6 months now.

I love the FREE T4 as well. I wish the FREE P7 and T7 had gone into production though. The T7 would have been tough competition for the SwissChamp.

@Al I used to work for Leatherman so I saw things that others wouldn't. It could very well still happen in the future, but I don't really expect it to. It is possible that some elements had been folded into the new Mr.Crunch. I recall there was a corkscrew tool which looked very similar to the one on the 1897 Victorinox. I had just one photo on my old phone but it had water damage and I replaced that phone.

I want a t4, but since I always have a wave+ on my belt it seems a bit redundant. But who knows, maybe I'll get on just for the retail therapy aspect someday. It looks like it would be uncomfortable to slide your hand past if you wanted change out of the bottom of your pocket (if you were using the pocket clip). I would probably end up making a leather belt case for it. Actually a belt case that would mount sideways inline with the belt would be cool. Then I would wear it to the left of my belt buckle and it wouldnt jab in when you bent over.

Haven’t seen any videos of the t4 scissors in use. I hope they are better than all the other leatherman scissors.

Hi C.R without the keyring would mean that yours is an earlier one. Presumably without the multi purpose hook behind the scissor spring, correct?

Thanks, this video really helped me because i had seen some reviews on the leatherman t4 that said it was THICK this helped me consider it as a edc tool.

Hi Andy. Thanks for watching! It is a fantastic EDC tool if you don't need pliers. I would recommend getting a second hand P4 rather than a new T4 though.

I have a leatherman free t4, skelatool cx, and i “had” a free p2, all barely used and looks brand new. But I gave away my p2 to my dad, because I didn’t really care for leather man’s. My dad was really happy for it tho. I always carry my cyber tool M Swiss Army knife because the clear red scales is way dope

@King Smoke I worked at Leatherman for several years (that is how I got into collecting). One of my colleagues went to work for Fiskars (Gerber) and we still keep in touch. I can tell you now, that there is not much difference between them other than price. And that is mainly due to where they are made and/or material sourced from. I don't have many Gerber products because I don't knowingly own anything made in China. P.S stay tuned, rare USA made Gerber review coming up shortly.

Not sure too comparable as SAK more universal use less screwdriver g and LT is more construction, repair oriented

I think that Leatherman more appealing to Americans whereas Europeans will always prefer the Victorinox, with its corkscrew and class. If someone gave me that Leatherman, I’d pay it forward by giving it to someone else. Not for me.

here in oz they have pretty well stopped using corks on most wine bottles. The corkscrew would be pretty useless

I second that, Grant. Haven't seen a cork in donkey's years. Heard a rumour from someone working in Pokolbin that we are going to see more tetra pak wines at Dan Murphy's soon.

Victorinox all the way. Quality, performance and life time warranty.
@MultitoolsandBlades
@MultitoolsandBlades 11 ай бұрын
@fred89pj Leatherman's 25 year warranty is really a secret lifetime warranty also. Tim wanted to have lifetime warranty but believed most people would dismiss a new brand as a scam, so 25 years would seem more honest. 40 years on, and if you send an old PST in, you get a Bond back with no questions asked.

The thing that annoys me about the Leatherman is all the wasted plastic space and short tools, it's just lazy design. I do LOVE the lock and the one hand opening though. And I'm very happy with my Wave, Surge & Tread. RE: Tweezers. Buy a $3 knockoff Swiss Card or some genuine Victorinox to replace the crap Leatherman one.

I've seen 3D printed modifications that make fine use of this space. Sad that Leatherman is too arrogant to do it themselves. I was lucky to see some prototypes before these came out and there were a few designs I would have liked to have. Shame they never put the T7 and P7 into production.

The T4 should have had Plus tools and been a little longer... I graciously gave away my T4 as it was too small for my hands. Currently, I carry a SAK Ranger + a Skeletool CX. Have everything I need there. I also own a LM K4, but it's just too "mean looking" for urban EDC, though quite lovely to carry.
@MultitoolsandBlades
@MultitoolsandBlades 2 жыл бұрын
@Josh FA what are your thoughts on the K4? I was going to pick one up at work, but was pissed that LM had gone with 420HC steel for the blade. Early in production I told them that they should go with at least 154CM or CPM154 but I was told every blade would need to be laser cut instead of stamped, and that would put the K4 at an even higher cost. I think it is already expensive.

@@edwardfletcher7790 Did you notice LM pulled out of SHOTshow? And they sold of Ledlenser in 2020. Next year is their 40th Anniversary and the big thing they have planned is a book about Leatherman's history - like we all need to hear Tim's Eurotrip story again.

Why anyone would replace a well built tried and true Swiss army knife with way more tools for a Leathermans sad attempt at a Swiss knife I'll never know
@MultitoolsandBlades
@MultitoolsandBlades 2 жыл бұрын
@Jared You will never replace a SAK but many people rotate their collection for EDC. We all know what celluloid scales look like after a few years of carry. The T4 still looks brand new and all the tools lock which is positive. I think this is a winner.
