We listened to this song amongst others when my dad died at 91 and his family We spent time telling stories and listening to music with him and then sitting vigil until he passed. I’m Canadian and he came here from Australia in the 50s. His parents were Scottish. What’s my point..great song

I had a similar experience that resulted in finding the main group The Clancy Brothers. The song was Beer, Beer, Beer from the game "The Bard's Tale" on ps2/xbox. Was looking for KZbin videos of the song and the version from the album "Flowers in the valley" popped up. Now they are my favorite group.

Met them once ,Liam Clancy was a pure gent , Tommy was a bit more reserved , Liam and my dad sang a song together in one of the main streets where I live , there will never be another like Liam Clancy .
