Leave My Ears Alone 2! [More Horrible Sound Effects and Music!]

Now, I'm what you'd call a Video Game Music nut, I probably spent more time listening to VG Music than anything else on KZbin.
But other the years, I've encountered many sound effects and songs that nearly made me lose my hearing. Grab your ear plugs, and keep your pointer over that volume control, because once again, I'm covering even more of the most obnoxious and downright irritating assaults on the ears that I've encountered.
Anything from horrible music to annoyingly repetitive sound effects may be included. No non-licensed games will be featured.

Git, you're correct about Sonic Chronicles's music being unfinished! Bioware's contract with Sega when making the game expired near the end of the game's development, not only making the game incredibly mediocre, but also leaving in a few placeholder MIDI tracks (Most notably Central City) that originally weren't even made for the game. I wouldn't be surprised if the terrible Sonic 3 remixes in the game were also placeholders, or maybe even a good portion of the soundtrack overall.

The green hill zone music is a GHZ midi but they disabled the main lead channel for some reason. Also they took a few midis off of VGMusic which i'm pretty sure isn't a good idea legally.

I love the fixed Options theme rips, I even enjoy how different channels fixed it in different ways, from simple volume mix changes to replacing the Tesla Coil lead altogether. I heard someone say in the comments of them that it sounds like a song from the 90's Sonic cartoons, and I can certainly see that. Although, to be fair, when it comes to the original Options theme, I'd prefer to listen to a few select -Double Dee- Sonic Underground songs than that if I had to choose one or the other...

( Probably) Unpopular Opinion: while the Genesis might have been superior to the SNES in graphics, the Sound chip of the Super Nintendo was arguably better. Examples: Music from Doom, Donkey Kong, Castlevania ecc. Less grating and metallic, fairly smoother. Decent Voice synthetizer,too.

GTdba Objectively, the Genesis was inferior to the SNES in terms of everything but processing power. So no, your opinion is actually correct. But game quality and music tastes are pretty much subjective, so there is no superior console in reality. In fact, what makes a game good isn't really dependant on hardware, but the merits of the game developer themselves. For example, Sonic games, despite being on the Genesis, do not have that distinctive "twang" that many other games on the Genesis have. (Sonic Spinball is a bit of an oddball in that regard as it was developed by a different team)

I had SO much trouble on the time eater boss simply because i didn't know about the sun attack. I thought you pressed the two triggers once, but i didn't know you HELD it. They said press, not hold. it took me multiple days to beat that guy and i even went to a walkthrough and found out it was HOLD and not PRESS like sonic's "buddies" said.

Six video game sounds that I was scared of include (I may include more if I can remember them off of the top of my head): -Kirby Air Ride (the first video game that I owned) had a sound effect that gave me the jumps when I was younger. It was the "checklist" sound effect when you had just unlocked something in that game. I used to be afraid of that sound, but I've gotten more used to it. I think that the abrupt high pitch nature of the sound as well as the faint hissing noises in the background is what was part of what made that sound scary. -Super Smash Bros. Melee had a scary siren sound that would play when you would go to fight an unlockable character. I've gotten used to this sound more, thanks to my confidence with trying to unlock all of the Melee characters before I try to unlock all of the characters in Brawl. EDIT: Also, the Yoshi crowd cheering effect from the same game freaked me out. It was a very deep, quite unfitting cheer that says: "Yoshi... Yoshi..." (It still freaks me out even today that I still mute the T.V. whenever I would play as Yoshi) -SpongeBob, the Battle for Bikini Bottom had a voice clip with an overwhelming creepy vibe to it (at least to me). In levels with the water-like goo (I'm not sure if this sound plays in all of them or not) SpongeBob will randomly say: "Uh oh, I can't swim!" The eeriness and the randomness of how he says it makes it a mildly disturbing sound. And finally, Super Mario Sunshine had some voice clips that still haunt me to this day. In some levels where you had to race II Piantissimo, some Pianta girls holding up a sign will make an odd cheering sound that like the SpongeBob one, was also in a strange unnerving low-to-high pitch. There was also a sound that had a similar feel during the Plungo fight in Gelato Beach Mission 2; where flood says in a creepy (almost zombie-like) tone: "Maa-rio!" (EDIT: This sound also plays in the (spoilers) final fight with Bowser (I think). At least on the bright side, these sounds only play in 5 missions. These sounds were so disturbing and unnerving in my childhood, that to this day I still mute my T.V. when I play SpongeBob or SMS when I get around these points. I'm not sure if this counts as "Horrible sounds" because not all of the sounds on these lists are particularly scary. I'm just sharing my own personal video game experiences with sounds that I found to be scary.

As annoying as Sonic's friends are during the final boss of Sonic Generations, they still can't hold a candle to a particular boss fight from Shadow the Hedgehog. At least they had different lines they would never stop saying, but Dr. Eggman will repeatedly shout "You know what they say, the more the merrier!" as loud as he can over and over and over and over... makes me want to take Shadow's gun to my own head!

One of the most annoying sounds for me is in StarTropics, where if your health is low enough, the background music loses a few layers to it, there's a random high pitched chirp to alert you that your health is low and every time you attack, you ALSO hear the chirp.

The low health beep in Zelda, specifically in A Link to the Past, especially after you get the Master Sword and fire ranged shots at full health, mostly when you're like me and full health is as uncommon as a sonic game getting 10/10

That Sonic Spinball Option Menu theme sounds like it was emulated wrong, it sounds better on an actual Genesis. It's still a highly distorted electric guitar tho, but it sounds better. And that puking sound actually sounds funnier the more I hear it lol.
