Actually that isn't the whole story. Mamoru Samuragoch, the guy credited as having composed the Director's Cut soundtrack only had 10 days or so to give results back to Capcom, so he sought the help of his assistant and made him compose the entire thing (his assistant would later go on to compose everything else he got credit, for in secret), and while his hearing was worsening at this point, it was first a couple of years after "composing" the Director's Cut soundtrack that he actually started pretending to be deaf in order to get more fame.

I always thought the low health sound from Super Metroid was what saved you near the end of the game, when the baby almost sucks the life out of you but hears the alert at the last second. You most likely would have been at low health by the end of Metroid II and in the Ridley fight at the beginning for the baby to hear the alarm coming from its "mom".

Speaking of such, I found the low health sound from AM2 -- I mean, metroid 2 return of samus to be much worse than super metroid's. Even OG metroid's low health alert was annoying, considering you had so little health and would always respawn with 30 energy regardless of how many energy tanks you have or energy before you died or restarted.

If you watched my video of the breakdown of the case 2 villain in Spirit of Justice (people, please don't spoil it, it's still too new) and my response to the breakdown happening irked your ears more than welcome, then I have to apologize. Then again, vanilla TV Tropes has seen fit to DQ from it Kyosuke Higuchi, who only even used the Death Note for _MONEY_ and definitely clears the heinous standard by trying to eventually kill Misa for life insurance fraud, with no way it could be off-screen at that when announcing that very plan is LITERALLY what has Rem work against him in favor of Light. - Funny how I didn't get hearing problems because of Metroid Fusion. On the subject of Metroid, Other M is still beyond idiotic. - Basement theme remix is Narm at its best. What next, the zombies will be wanting a few Jill sandwiches? - World of Ruin's map theme being Searching For Friends permanently when off the airship is likely a bug (the game has plenty of bugs), but it's not like you're on the world map off the airship for long in general.

I agree completely regarding Searching for Friends getting on your nerves after a while... I went out of my way to have every character learn every ability they could before taking on Kefka, and the music just drove me nuts after a while, I kept wishing to hear Terra's Theme again. As for Final Tocatta, I never really paid much attention to the soundtrack in SotN, but I bet if I went back to play it now I'd notice how often it plays. I wish Marble Gallery was used anywhere near that much, or the Abandoned Pit music

Hooray, I am not the only one who adores "that person's name is", and Bravely Default in general... I mean, it is quite obvious that Bravely Default is a good game, but the music, oh yeah, the music! It is great, am I right?

I don't know if these two things that I'll mention count to the point you're making, but there's also the sound the dragon makes in the cancelled Battletoads game on the GBA, and the 3-second loop that plays whenever a GBA game crashes, which is also a different sound depending on what GBA game is being played.

Bubblebeam's gen 1 sound effect was terrifying to me as a child, especially in contrast to how light hearted of a move it sound

6:42 Yeah, that happens a lot in Eversion. Also, I'm surprised you didn't mention 1942 for the Nes. It has only one in-game theme in all of its 32 levels, and just hearing it once can make you not want to hear 8-bit music anymore, let alone hearing it looping relentlessly in each of the levels! It's horrible to the point I don't want to call it music, I'd rather be listening to Buffy the Vampire Slayer's soundtrack, really.
