Leaving Cert Higher Level Maths 2021 Paper 1 Question 4

In question 4 of the leaving cert higher level maths 2021 paper 1 we are asked to do a divisibility proof by induction. In part b we work on sequences and series, part i we use the Tn formula and in part ii we do a small bit of problem solving.

@@SimpleScienceandMaths How many marks would you get for getting as far as starting the line prove pk+1 is true and stopping there

I would say low partial credit so 3/10 or 5/15 perhaps

How did you know to divide 2021 by 7 and how did u know to get a remainder ( genuinely confused,can’t remember doing this topic )

Hope not too late, if you divide 2021 by 7 in your calculator then press shift and then the SD button you should get 288 and 5/7 beside the 288. The number above 7 is your remainder. In this case 5. This should work for pretty much all uneven division.
