Very helpful. We moved to FL 3 years ago and can’t leave fast enough. The population growth here is ridiculous. Miami is OVER congested. Way too many people. Traffic is awful all day long. Spend way too much on a house for so little.

I am originally from New York and moved to Florida 29 years ago. I have now lived in Florida longer then I lived in New York. I want to move out of Florida for all the reasons mentioned in this video but specifically I am done with the heat! Everyone comes to visit here and mostly all of those people want to move here. I get it, Florida is very beautiful... What people don't understand is that it is a never ending summer which sounds great right? Well it's not, it is boring. It is like groundhog day! The strength of the sun and the sweltering humidity can physically make you sick if you are outside too long (no amount of water can cool you down). The beaches are no relief in the summer since the waters are the temperature of a warm bathtub and that's if you can get near the beach at all with the amount of people here. There is also the sea lice to contend with that keep you out of the water anyway. My takeaway from living here for so many years is that seasons represent movement of life, change, renewal and balance.

I'm with you. As much as I want to love there, maybe a snowbird is my best option lol. I do love the heat but also love a warm fire and smell of fall. When you make the decision to make Charlotte home, give me a call

Did a ton of research in about 15 states and narrowed my move to NC. Only reason I considered Florida was because I have family there. The more I learn, the more I'm leaning NC.

Close to Charlotte is Hickory; and that area has been listed as one of the nicest and most affordable areas in North Carolina

Hickory is certainly a mix depending on the area. But still very pretty :)

SO weird! Especially coming off the last few years. I do love snow in the city, something magical about it... then it turns to brown slush and it's gross lol

The sinkhole thing hardly happens. And saying there is no time to wear sweaters is a reach. Mosquitos are normal here. I’ve learned people just like to complain and overdramatize what actually occurs in FL. I live in Tampa and we also do have some cooler months and you can wear sweaters and boots. BUT for most of the other reasons you mentioned, I’m considering Charlotte..😂 From the N.E. and i’m just over it at this point. My only concern is outside of Charlotte and Raleigh, the state is boring.
@livingincharlottenorthcarolina Жыл бұрын
haha your comment cracked me up. I do agree, everyone always has something to complain about. Nowhere is perfect. I will say though, regarding boring outside of Charlotte and Raleigh, it just takes knowing where to go depending on interests. There are a TON of outdoor items like biking, fishing, hiking, etc. But there are also super cool small towns and things to go see. We have a long list we are working our way through. And the beaches are amazing, I love them so so much. In addition you are 3.5 hrs from Charleston and Atlanta etc. So Charlotte is a nice center point. Around Charlotte (right outside the city) there is SO much going on. Each town has their own scene, events, etc. I can def find you something to do. But are there snoozeville all over... yes, but thats in any state (even in NY where I'm originally from). Give me a shout if you need help deciding ;) 704-559-9169

As a New Yorker and having visited Miami etc, there is NO traffic compared to that. You may hit a tad bit during rush hour in some spots, but I can get all over the city no issue :)
