Ahhh, nothing could be better than going home after 9 days in the hospital! Even with a feeding tube and more medical supplies, it just feels more natural to be in your own space, w/ the beating hearts that you love - and I can see it on your face: you are transformed :)
@karenratcliff57067 жыл бұрын
This is so wonderful to see you home!!! Your voice is so much stronger (and happier!) and you look much more mobile and comfortable. Being in your own bed is always the best relief after a hospital stay. Very glad the pain is decreasing some each day. Congrats again to the happy couple! Give Harlow an extra hug!!!

Judd I totally hear you about errands. Who wants to run errands?! But? When you've been stuck in a hospital for 9 days I can understand the excitement. Glad you are home and starting to feel better Jackie and Best Wishes to you and Judd on Monday 6/12 for your wedding.

I had a feeding tube for years due to gastroparesis. Can your pump be increased by 1ml at a time? It may be easier on you than increasing 5mls at a time. I use to have 1hr a day where I had a break to shower etc. I'm glad you finally get to go home! I also have a guide/service dog (I'm a blind and have a spinal cord injury). Doggie cuddles, once you are free from the hospital are great! I'd usually send my guide/service dog to my parent's house because as you said in another vlog, although he's legally allowed the nurses don't have to take care of him. I also thought he'd enjoy the 'vacation' away from the city for awhile!

I spent a month in the hospital when I had my J-tube surgically placed. I ended up in ICU directly from recovery due to the issues my body has with anesthesia as a result of Mitochondrial Disease. When I woke up I could barely whisper. It was a very difficult surgery for me & my body. One thing that helped at the hospital was a very special type of heating pad (that can also do cold). It's nothing like a typical heating pad. This uses water and it circulates through the pad area and really made a difference in the pain I had in my abdomen, the bloating, bowel issues etc. You can leave it on day and night without worry about bring your skin, and there's a low and high heat setting. Because it was so helpful I purchased one for myself. The brand is Gaymar and it's the T-Pump Classic (650 model). Certain conditions insurance will pay for it, such a types of diabetes...but not anything I had diagnosed at that time, so it runs at least $400. But with my chest wall neuopathy...this is the ONLY thing that soothes the pain. And despite pain medication I scream (like a woman in labor),...according to my family. And I am a person that's dealt with a ton of pain...and just get through it. Not thus pain!

If you end up increasing your rate again, would it help to go up 1-2ml at a time rather than 5ml?
@planetattybat12917 жыл бұрын
Ive worked with chiildren that had feeding pumps and just googled to make sure but between 10-600ml per hour, the rate on the enteralite infinity pump can be adjusted by increments of 1ml.
