What an amazing and creative transformation! Not to be a kill joy, but if someone did this in the US to a cheap rental, the first time the Landlords saw what was done, they've be plotting a rent increase, a sale or an eviction, so they could rent for double even triple or sell it at a profit.

That happened to my parents. They rented a duplex and my mother scraped off the old raggedy wallpaper and put up some pretty new wallpaper. She sanded and painted the woodwork as well as new floor covering. The place looked so nice. When the landlord came to collect the rent he looked inside the house and said he would need to increase the rent. My mother told him that she had paid for the materials and had done all the work so she would send him a bill for the cost of materials and the labor cost. He didn’t raise rent for us but I’m sure he raised it for the next tenants.

He did a WONDERFUL job! BUT seems like a lot of work for a rental. Most rental property in the US will not let you make any major changes. Any painting that is done will need to be repainted to the same look as when you first moved in.

Years ago when I was a young mother of two babies, we rented an old "rent beater". We painted it all and put in wiring for a washer and dryer. Even linoleum in the kitchen. Our thanks was she raised the rent.

I hope the landlord is reimbursing them for all this massive improvement. To do all this work out of one’s own pocket on a rented place is throwing money down a hole. I wouldn’t put it past a landlord, especially if such a rundown place, to see the amazing transformation, find an excuse to evict the woman, and then rent the apartment for ten times more.

It’s nice but these titles are always misleading, I think they fix places to sell/rent because it’s the exact same decor for an apartment in the city and the I the place is in the country just by looking out the window. The same decor in different types of rooms. He did a really good job though remodeling
