I remember leaving in Bolivia when l was 10 years old back in the late 80's, l went to military event that was open to the public, they had FN FALS and you could shoot them for a mere .50 cents a round in Bolivian currency not a lot lol, l got behind that full sizes FN and let a full magazine rip. That was my introduction to the FN FAL, l was in heaven after that.

The FAL is definitely my favorite. Of The Cold War Era. 308 or 7.62 Nato battle rifles. I wasn't even aware of Lebanon utilizing The FAL. I'm guessing The Lebanese FAL is kind of a moon rock here in The US. I recently found out The Larry Vickers A.K.A LAV was diagnosed. With lymphoma. Thoughts an Prayers go out to The LAV. Proportionally, its reminiscent of an older age of rifles where the grip is inline with the stock, such as an M1 Garand, Mosin, muskets and the like. Throws a mean round while looking beautiful doing it. At the time of its inception, it beat out the American M14 in the same caliber to win the NATO forces contract.
@hansstrouf
@hansstrouf 3 жыл бұрын
He should do some research before talking nonsense, the Fn Fal prototype was finished in 1939, Fn made the two formidable rifles together the Fn 49 patent was filed in 1937 and the Fal is just a transformation, Fn goes from the wood has aluminum and polymer, the Fn Fal is more pregnant than the MP 44, this German rifle was developed by prisoners of war from FN, it is overestimated very heavy and imprecise.

Same as in Italy. They were imported in the 90's, unfortunately not in large numbers. Beautiful rifles! High quality built. I still remember the Imbel advertising on specialised magazines. Unfortunately I was too young in those days to buy one, and now they absolutely rarely emerge on the collectors market, and in case at very high price. Luckily we have here still a good quantity of L1A1's or demil StG58's around at reasonable prices.

Hey Larry howzit going man, right on!!! And a big hello from Beirut. This batch was delivered to the Lebanese Army at Beirut international Airpot on the night of the month of April 1975 beginning of the civil war. That night 90% of the Army deserted and with them a fresh delivery of FN FAL from Belgium, anyways it was the last batch to be sent to Lebanon from Belgium. Many of those rifles were spread between civilians and militias group. And you’re right the crescent is the Lebanese cedar tree that you can find on our national flag.

In Australia we had wood furniture right until the end when the F88 replaced it. They did away with the wood of the same shape as the plastic ones on this rifle late in the Vietnam war and refined it to the 2nd pattern with a rounded shape and round drilled vent holes. The wood on ours was really solid though. I'm pretty sure it was a eucalypt of some type and was very strong.
