I had the opportunity when I got out of the Marine Corps in 2005 to buy 1 or both M1A1 Thompsons with 1944 serial numbers from an estate of a gentleman I knew who had passed for 5k apiece because he would’ve wanted me to have at least one the family told me because he was WW2 USMC vet. I had gotten to fire both multiple times with him previously and were an absolute joy! The boss said absolutely NO because I had more then enough cash on hand from 3 deployments 2001, 2003, and 2004-2005 because I didn’t have job yet and was planning on going back to school. Plus she wanted that money to goes towards a down payment on a house. They sent them off to auction and I believe they got $8,500 for one and $9,000 for the other. There was way too much list in his collection like a couple BARs, MP40, MP44, and the list goes on. I believe they cleared at the auction around 500k from his collection. I kick myself to this day and don’t let her live it down because from my research they would be worth 25-30k apiece now which at that time the 1921s were going between 20-30k in 2005!

Just look at that thing. That is more than a firearm...it's a work of art. Made in an era when America was TRULY great. That thing is a big old chunk of expensive, high-quality steel, all of the small parts are steel, every thing is precisely milled, the wood stocks and grips are beautifully crafted and the gun was finished in a deep, "royal" blue that was hand-polished to perfection. Back when people truly took pride in what they were making and the cost of labor was DIRT cheap. If we didn't live under a tyrannical government and companies could still manufacture that exact gun for civilian sales (thanks for destroying the Second Amendment Ronald Reagan), just imagine what it would cost? Probably AT LEAST $5,000...and I'd gladly pay that and more. There's no plastic or polymer or MIM JUNK in that firearm.

Abolish the Hughes Amendment 1986 and AWB 89. The politics involved with them is dated to say the least. Just as many crimes and felon thugs as before. These laws did nothing but stop law abiding gun owners and collectors from owning them. Reopen the machine gun registry and allow the NFA $200 transfers to continue on current and past Class III items.
