You failed to mention that in the last 18 years, Hezbullah clashed with the peace keepers many times and the only recorded deaths in UNIFIL are actually Hezbullah hitting peace keepers. For 18 years UNIFIL failed to enforce 1701 and on fact white washed the violation.

The safety of our peacekeepers is paramount. So we will leave them in a warzone which has occurred because they have been incapable of fulfilling their UN mandate. This simply protecting the UN - not the peacekeepers- not Israel and not Lebanon except the terrorists of Hesbollah.

I'm still a bit confused as to what exactly the peacekeepers actually do. I got the part of sitting in their bunkers, 'patrolling' and clearing streets, but nothing really beyond that. Although I think the Lebanese traffic officers can do that. 10 000 peacekeepers to do that. Wow. Everything else was just gibberish. Really informative🤔

The guy is lying about the role of UNIFIL, go to UNIFIL website and read their mandate. Even if he blames Lebanon about not taking practical steps against Hezbullah, then UNIFIL job is to report on Lebanons violations. Not pretend like they did their job, all is well. I mean he claims his mandate is basically to safe the sovereignty of the Lebanese government. Well, how is that working for you, little hypocrite. Is Lebanon or Hezbullah control the country? And with the accumulation of Hezbullah against 1701, does that not disvalidate the resolution hence threatens Lebanon sovereignty and your mandate? There's never any introspection in any of the UN bodies. Everyone pretends they are perfect all the time. That's disgraceful. Too many dictatorships in the UN so it operates like a banana republic.

UNIFIL was ordered in by the UN and it just as easy to order them out. They have failed in their duty to keep the area south of the Litany River a military free zone. reason to be in Lebanon but there are many reasons to dismiss them

"they've come under attack from Israel" that a misleading choice of words. A few, 2 or 4 accidents occurred. Like happens in any war. Some of them while rescuing badly wounded soldiers! This is not "attacking" these are accidents. Even the same side is commonly accidently caught in friendly fire!
